Coaching Staff Update: 1/9

Since the offseason began, the coaching staff situation has been pretty volatile with multiple moves expected after a poor year. Now that Rhett Lashlee is in place at OC, there seems to be a little more clarity on the offensive side of the ball. For one, I’m hearing from a strong program source that Butch Barry is out as OL coach. The other name that had been brought up a ton as one that had been on the chopping block was WR coach Taylor Stubblefield, but I’m told he is being retained.

As I said last week, the rest of the staff on both offense and defense are safe. I would expect an announcement on Barry in the next few days and some OL coaching names to emerge soon after.

Horrible QB play will make any WR room look bad. I do remember more than a few games were our wrs were WIDE A$$ OPENED and the ball was overthrown or not even thrown their way.

Stubs not getting fired is fine with me. Means it will be easier for the whole staff to be shxt canned after we go 6-6. Clown show continues in Coral Gables .

I’ll hope for a transfer qb in king, a few OL and a CB from the portal. Hopefully we go undefeated and make the playoffs. Who knows, maybe Manny brings us number six. If he ***** the bed again, he has only himself to blame. Maybe Blake goes too. Either way, we all win.

Maybe he didn't.....of if he did, how much of an improvement?

Osborn had 9 drops and 45 catches. So he dropped 1 for every 5 receptions. Pope has 3 drops and 15 receptions, so the same rate. Wiggins looks to improve his drop rate but the team still struggled with it......we also ran bad routes and looked like we were going through the motions at times.

Those were a few stats i saw before the bowl game. I don't have the others.

From a team that went 6-7 losing to two Group of 5 teams, losing 4 games after bye weeks, and an untold number of games which they were favored by 14+, only two coaches lose their jobs. Building champions my ***.

Funny the way you guys zero in on Stubs. I mean I know why, and because of who, but you're really going to tell me he did a worse job than anyone else on the staff? You honestly can't.

There is alot of dead weight on this staff. If we stink again next year Manny will have no scapegoats. He retained mostly everyone when he had an opportunity to clean house. Rumph, patke, banda, stubbs, and baker are subpar at their job and their pros dont outweigh their cons. G5 staff.

I have no idea how Rumph has survived.

I’m never for firing people and we all have no idea how good these position coaches actually are BUT firing 2 coaches after the year we had is just not something one can do.

recruiting wasn’t great, on field product was embarrassing... you need to make a statement and make some moves, even if they might be tough on a personal level . Retaining the entire defense staff seems lazy and short sided. But we also lost to FIU so maybe this shouldn’t come as a surprise

Tom Herman made more changes to his staff than Manny Diaz. Manny really has a lot of confidence in himself.

Good. Keep the band together. Manny will be fired by Halloween. Also not sure how much of a choice Manny has. He doesn’t know anyone to come in and work for him.
