This is the most encouraging excerpt from Richt's statement: "I don’t have one guy where I don’t know if he can function in this league or help us win."

for the most part, the fat has been trimmed off of the animal that's great news. no more Golden specials.

Perry throws perhaps the nicest ball of all QBs, shame he has not been able to step up.

Weldon was the first name Rosier mentioned.. saying he completed **** near 80% of his passes one practice. Can't get much better than that. And he is a good athlete.

I wrote him off when he got here but I like his moxie...dudes got some stuff about him, no one is talking about him having any shot in this competition, couldnt show what he can do in the spring bc of an eye infection.. but regardless, still just working making his play speak for itself.
i think they could be building up weldon in case he wants to transfer.

Shaqs dad said Shaq told him Cade gave the first team fits.

I don’t know why anyone would be shocked he’s balling . His dad is a former stud college qb that had some time in the nfl. So you know he’s had great coaching / teaching.

He’s also the best athlete in the qb room, to go with his moxie.

I really liked him coming in but eventually moved on, his off field issues made me think he’d never be around here long . It looks like he’s maybe turned the corner. Which would be huge .

I guess the crowing Jw as the next guy might need to wait , looks like we’ll be having a legit battle next year.

Should be a good competition.

for the TE spot- not fair to Patchan to move him back as he will finally do what he was brought here to do on the defensive side of the ball. Langham? maybe i guess? Gray we need now at FB- he is starting- and even if George passes him up- he's still the only other FB. Can't think of any O line i'd move due to the strides they are making.. (unless is that guy Milo still on the team?). this position is mainly just for practicing..do not want to move any young guys that are progressing at their positions.. what about McCray? or Knowles (ha)? those guys seem to be in positions and depth chart level and age for it to be an idea to think about- as well as Langham.

Dude we’re in no position to move any de lol, or dt for that matter. DL is thin and the season will depend on them staying healthy.

mccray just seems like he will be surpassed by joyner next- leaving him as our 7th D End..as of now he is our 6th D end- and he is a far far far way below our top 5. so who would you move?

I was one of the few guys who was bullish on Weldon when we were recruiting him. Of course, if he does well then everyone will claim they always knew he’d be great, but most considered him a total afterthought. I always loved his lightning fast release, his toughness, his brashness, and his vastly underrated athletic ability. He’s one of those natural born leaders.

I loved Weldon coming out of high school. Seemed he was going to become another casualty of college life but sounds like he’s back on track. His athleticism and arm strength is a dangerous combination.

Looks alot bigger than I thought.

Shaq's dad said Weldon was the truth.

Richt has always been high on Weldon's ability. I have never been high on Perry. To me Perry has a big arm and everything else is suspect. Kind of like Stephen Morris.

I liked Weldon coming out. I think he does a lot of things well. The rumored failed drug test and missing pretty much all of Spring due to Pink Eye (really, of all the ailments Pink Eye???!?!?) made me doubt he'd be the QB1 here. I thought Weldon had a lot of Alex Moran from Blue Mountain State in him. If he has turned the corner maturity wise Weldon will 100% push hard to start next year.

I still think for next year that Jarren has the best shot to start. I like that the 2019 winner will have a real competition.

Perry just doesnr have it between the ears.

The main takeaway for me is that we have four pass-first QBs with strong arms and athleticism. It’s a stable.

The QB2 battle may stretch into the season.
That battle is the key to making QB2 ready to keep that U rolling to our next Natty. Harder the battle, sweeter Jah's victory.

Good problem to have, seems like the most talented qb room we have had in a while

I don't remember Richt saying great things about Sheriffs individually.

What I do remember is Richt saying he was battling hard with Rosier and was neck-and-neck with him. But nothing that was earth shattering or extremely eye opening.

Polendey just needs to be serviceable as a 3rd TE and situational guy. Jordan and Mallory will be the guys against LSU.

Weldon is impressing a lot of people. The #2 race will be fun to watch on Saturday.

Kosi bout to transfer after this year if Weldon passes him on the depth chart.

I highly doubt Williams, Kosi and Weldon are all in the roster next year. This is why we need a QB in this class for depth at least. Can’t have just two scholarship QB on the roster going into 2019.

Weldon can't look any worse than he did last season when he came in and played like spencer whipple.
