As stated. He's a different guy this year. Let's hope a year of experience and maturity pans out.

Lol he said the same thing about Mike Smith last year and he was the exact same player

Great to hear good reviews about Blades. I know folks were highly critical of him coming out of HS but given that we missed out on those Broward Suburb kids, I'm hoping Blades shows up/

If Tito is pushing for a starting position, then we are playing with house money. Coaches have said he's exceeded their expectations. Good news is we won't lose a step when the #3 DT enters the game (either Tito or Bethel) because that person is essentially a 3rd starter.
Tito is also a guy who could barely crack the Illinois starting rotation. I expect him to be capable but not a difference maker.

By far the most important quote from Manny based off the video......

About helping QB's at about 4:40.........'The way we are able to run the ball know'.

If this is true we are in the mix for a playoff spot.

There’s plenty of talent in that three deep. Don’t be hoodwinked by coach speak to the media. Any decent coach uses the media to motivate players and control fan expectations.

Rick’s 3 classes in. Time to stop blaming Folden and start expecting UM to be a regular ACC championship participant.

Blaming Alf ended after a third class , he’s heading towards his fourth class. No more clouds.

We keep hearing how much stronger everyone is. I'm interested to see if this stands true in the game vs LSU whose S&C coach is Tommy Moffitt.

we'll know everything we need to know about that area on september 2nd

He put up decent stats for a DT so how did he barely crack the rotation?

I'm expecting Tito to play a lot and do some good things for us. Coaches/players haven't been saying all this positive stuff about him because he's some scrub who couldn't crack Illinois DT rotation.

Smith is a solid rotational LB. Not great but a reliable backup.

Knowles last year was the worst DB in the ACC. If he got to Smith's level that'd be awesome, but I'll believe it when it happens

What? Tito was Illinois's #2 DT, and their most productive overall. He graded out per PFF at a 77, which is only 1 pt below Norton, and was the 5th best on IL's entire roster.

I'll never understand why posters make up lies just to bring down players. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about

And yall said the sane thing about Mike Jackson. Getting better late is better than never. Dont be surprised if Knowles, dean, and rosier are the most improved players this year. Yall just quick to write everyone off...

This is certainly coach speak. This defense is fully loaded with athletes everywhere. Its great to have stud Frosh as backups again, maybe we can get back to dominating special teams again

Still saddens me to not see Young on this team. Dean could go a long way to help fill that massive void though

Not just Golden - the Shannon years, too - such as playing our punter at WR because of no depth - which is really a hard thing to accomplish for a school in the heart of WR country.

Probably couldn't go 2-deep during the Coker years at some positions, too - at least towards the end of his time when Butch's guys had left.
The Brian Monroe at WR thing wasn’t in Shannon. He signed that ‘08 wr haul a year after he was hired. And let’s give Al a break to some degree. He go the job then a few months later was hit with sanctions and scolly reductions. He never really go the chance to sign huge classes. And trust me the negative recruiting wars that other schools used was real. I’ll at least give him that break..but happy things worked out like it did cause now we have CMR

I concur with the thoughts that Knowles, Dean, and Rosier will be the most improved players on the team for this year. Add Choc to the mix as well. Having fantastic freshmen as backups, along with another Top 10 recruiting class will ensure that we are setup to continue excellence at/near par to what we used to have at the U. I think this year cements our place back in the upper echelon on college football, where we will reign in the Top 5/10 and play for CFP berths moving forward. It’s pretty much a far gone conclusion we’re taking the Coastal every year from here on out.
