I know you know what you're talking about. But it's not just that. It's the system of sourcing donations. And it's really not much different from a "P-word" that definitely does not rhyme with "analytics" though others might somehow see it differently. Miami is just surviving.

When you live The University of Miami, your primary objective is always to see everyone around you elevate and do better. That's what family looks like. I'm gonna look after you.

As for the ranking.... I get that people seem to care about it, but if you understand what goes into the especially US News... it's definitely not all about academic prowess.
I was poorly saying that $50 to the Hurricane Club every year isn't the same as $50 to the university every year because consistent alumni donations is one of the measures of a university. That was the case before US News as well because it was supposed to indicate how well alumni valued their degrees.

"Those rankings are trash by the way but I’m sure it’s something the suits like to brag about to their rich friends while sipping on expensive wine and indulging in their caviar."

Holy God. Are you this myopic? You're right about the rankings being trash, so I'll give you that.

But... seriously with this? In addition to the rest of it? You are screaming from high on a mountaintop that you DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI.

The last alumni event I attended I wore slacks and a blazer. And an orange and green tie. It's mostly how I roll. Donna Shalalalalala was there.

Literally and absolutely NO ONE was rubbing elbows and talking about a grand conspiracy to subjugate Hurricane football and really shove it to all you b!tches who buy a ticket and think it grants you access to the club. We mostly spoke about how to better and progress The U. Stuff y'all don't give a rats *** about, because you're not invested.

I've been to more University of Miami events than I can count, and literally none of them had expensive wine or caviar. But, totally, this is happening, while we refuse to spend money on a coach or staff. Right???

Please, go on, continue to write about The U as if you know it, at all.

I got you. But I could name several problems with those US News rankings. The first of which being the freshman retention and graduation rates. They speak highly to grade inflation.

And quality of campus life means exactly nothing to alumni or commuters.

Most fans of the “U” are fans of the football program and fail to realize that unless the university as a whole remains viable, football becomes irrelevant and thus ceases to exist.

I’ve mentioned this in the recent past that Miami caught lightning in a bottle when Schnelly was hired. He caught the CFB world by surprise and it took a while for the rest to catch up. Once the rest caught up, the “U” (as we are now known) lost it’s advantage and failed to keep up with the times as far as the football program is concerned.

We can’t catch the others by surprise now. To get back to the football glory days of the recent past, it’ll take transformational leadership from the top down.

Cmon, don’t be hyperbolic. I bet one of them had expensive wine.
