CIS EXCLUSIVE: Local 2028 4-Star EDGE Aden Johnson Begins Narrowing Down Recruitment Process
Miami, FL.-- One of the top defensive linemen in the State of Florida has begun the process of narrowing down his recruitment process.

Miami Carol City's 4-Star EDGE Rusher Aden Johnson has become one of the biggest head turners in the 2028 class. The 6 foot 5 Junior is truly incredible to watch. He pairs his long and lanky arms with just elite speed and power to bully opposing tackles, often finding himself in the backfield.

Aden Johnson is rated as a top 225 recruit in the class of 2028, standing as the #19 EDGE nationally and #27 prospect in Florida (Per ON3).

The Chiefs' star has recorded over 20 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 3 pass breakups and 1 forced fumble during his junior campaign.

Now, Johnson has began narrowing his recruiting process down from 29 Division I Offers to a more manageable sample size. Aden cited blue blooded programs like Miami, Georgia, Texas, Syracuse, Oklahoma and Florida State as some of the leaders in his recruitment.

Being blessed with a plethora of Division I Offers is the dream each kid that's every put on pads and a helmet dreams for. It can get stressful, managing a rigorous cycle of phone cals and interviews with coaches, while maintaining peak performances on the field and in the classroom. I had Aden reflect on this process, while highlighting some of the things he looks for most in his future home.

"The recruiting process has been a blessing. I’m grateful for every opportunity, staying focused, and trusting the process. I’m continuing to work hard and find the best fit for my future...I’m looking for great coaching, player development, a winning culture, and an opportunity to compete. I want to be somewhere that helps me grow on and off the field."

As for Miami, the Hurricanes in particular have been a big player in Aden Johnson's recruitment. What stands out about the U is simple: a relentless pursuit of excellence.

"What stands out to me about Miami is the nonstop texting. The staff has great communication, and they're relentlessly recruiting me... I love that their defensive lineman development and how they've produced numerous DL/OLB draft picks."

The addition of Aden Johnson has been a warm welcome to the new age of the Miami Carol City Chiefs, as "The ZUU" is being restored to former glory, standing as the #6 team in the FHSAA via MaxPreps.

"It means a lot. Carol City has a rich tradition and I want to help bring that winning culture back, make the community proud, and leave a lasting legacy."

I asked Aden to look into the future and highlight the impact he's looking to have on his future team on the field and in the community, where he stated:

"Fans can expect hard work, toughness, and somebody who gives 100% every play. Off the field, I want to be known as a humble, respectful, and hardworking young man."

My favorite part of interviewing student athletes is having them asses their own strengths. What makes them tick? How do you stand out from any other player in your position across the Country?

Here's what Aden had to say about his own film breakdown

"I play with confidence, physicality, and a competitive mindset. What separates me is my work ethic and willingness to keep improving. I want to build my own identity and let my game speak for itself."

The clock is ticking asap any moment, Aden Johnson is ready to lock down a select group of top schools. Johnson confirmed with me that there will be a top 4-5 announcement coming "Very soon", with no select timeframe for a commitment.
