Chad Thomas to return for senior season

Miami junior defensive end Chad Thomas will return for his senior season, a source told CanesInSight.com.

Thomas has 5.5 career sacks as a Hurricane, including 4.5 this season -- which has been his best as a Cane. The former five-star out of Booker T. Washington in Miami has 33 total tackles, 19 solo, and 10.5 TFL this year to go along with the 4.5 sacks.

The source added that Miami defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski played a part in Thomas deciding to return for his senior year. The Hurricanes are expected to return a formidable front 7 next season with Thomas, fellow defensive ends Demetrius Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Trent Harris; defensive tackles Kendrick Norton, R.J. McIntosh, Gerald Willis; and the three freshmen linebackers who started this season for Manny Diaz's group.

Everyone blamed Dorito and scheme for his lack of production his 1st two years. Ok fine, that's a half decent excuse. But after a full year under Kool, his production was still weak and he was non-existent in most games this year. Nowhere near what we thought he would become as a 5* recruit. Joe Jackson completely outplayed him as a TRUE FRESHMAN.

He played really well, look at the tape. Lol at Chad having to prove anything to you. Jackson did not outplay him.

Don't know what some of to u were watching..but Chad had a pretty good year. Alot of yall were haters of him regardless of what he did...because it pushes your hate for Ice Harris - BTW agenda. Joe Joe Jackson is not currently better than him..but it wasn't a competition to begin with. This dl group will be beastly next year.

"A pretty good year" doesn't mean the dude should be considering the draft. It'd be a horrendous decision. He's a nice player and it'd be nice to have him next year but he's no world beater or anywhere near it.

Sad thing is, I haven't heard anyone even mention Chad Thomas of entering the draft.

Chad actually had a really good year. Some of you saying that his use in the previous scheme was is somewhat of an excuse are full blown retarded as it has everything to do with why he wasn't productive. Look at Chickillo - the staff had him bloated up to 285 and would seldom play him inside on occasion. Now Chick's starting on the Steelers as a LB and about 40-50 lbs. lighter.

And who the **** cares if Chad loves his music? If you haven't paid attention, it's good to have a backup plan in case football doesn't work out. I think it'd be a mistake for him to leave as well. Not going to start bashing him so we can try to get someone else to take his scholly.

During the recruiting process fans were pleading for him to come for the music program. Now fans mad he cares too much about music. Lol

They don't play the same position and won't be in competition with each other next year. Joe will once again be at the spot originally set for AQM. D-Jax was moved over there after fall practice, but it'll be interesting to see how that spot shakes out. My guess is it's Joe's to lose. Either way, it's been 15 years since we can say we have a DE rotation like what we'll have next year:

Chad Thomas/ D-Jax/Bethel
Joe Jackson/Trent Harris/Patchan (?)/Super Frosh

Andrew Williams/Cornelius Green/Lavaar Scott
Mcdougle/Jamal Green/John Square

Our overall DL rotation next year is madness.

The above is supplemented with:

Mcintosh/Willis/Fines
Norton/Moten/Jenkins

Outside of Bama, how many college DLs can boast to 10-11 rotational DL who ALL have experience and will all play in the NFL to some degree?

I don't think fans have a problem with his love or talent for music. In fact he's so talented at what he does I would say most fans wonder which one he will put first. Its a valid question when they saw a vastly improved player this year

If a school decides to offer him coordinator money, to merely coach D-Line he's gone, and there's nothing Miami can do about that. Remember, schools like Texas and LSU can easily offer 1.5 million for a position coach, if they wanted, it's nothing to them.

He's moved 2 times in 23 years of coaching. He's not going anywhere

In which he received average coaching in his first two years....if coach K was his coach for 3yrs he would be leaving this year....
