Chad Thomas to return for senior season

Miami junior defensive end Chad Thomas will return for his senior season, a source told CanesInSight.com.

Thomas has 5.5 career sacks as a Hurricane, including 4.5 this season -- which has been his best as a Cane. The former five-star out of Booker T. Washington in Miami has 33 total tackles, 19 solo, and 10.5 TFL this year to go along with the 4.5 sacks.

The source added that Miami defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski played a part in Thomas deciding to return for his senior year. The Hurricanes are expected to return a formidable front 7 next season with Thomas, fellow defensive ends Demetrius Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Trent Harris; defensive tackles Kendrick Norton, R.J. McIntosh, Gerald Willis; and the three freshmen linebackers who started this season for Manny Diaz's group.

He has 1 solid season of production. He needs another why even risk going undrafted?

I wasn't implying that you were but that just his reactions (IF they were aimed at you) come off like that. Kid should be like "OF COURSE I ain't going anywhere" rather than acting like anyone is using his name for attention.

Nothing wrong with Chad wanting to control what he feels is his brand.

I agree it would be in his best football interest to stay.

Everyone blamed Dorito and scheme for his lack of production his 1st two years. Ok fine, that's a half decent excuse. But after a full year under Kool, his production was still weak and he was non-existent in most games this year. Nowhere near what we thought he would become as a 5* recruit. Joe Jackson completely outplayed him as a TRUE FRESHMAN.

I would nothing more that for Chad to prove me wrong and come back with a vengeance next year but after a full year under Kool already i have my doubts. Prove me wrong Chad

He was a 5 star by one site and thats what everybody has been going by.

Part of the problem was everyone got gassed up bc bama wanted him. He was never a miles Garrett type recruit. He played mostly inside at BTW. Should of never been a 5star to begin with. Also looking back, BTW kids are extremely over hyped and overrated. He is a solid contributer, but not a difference maker.

If he stays it's a win us and him. He developes more and provides experience/ depth on the line. If he goes he isn't getting drafted and we lose depth.

Again, I ask.....what's with our fans, and apparently our beat writers, with this obsession over coaches and players
leaving the program?
Why can't folks just worry about the actual games?
Guys stinks in a game and he needs to have his scholie pulled, has a couple of good games and
now he needs to move on to the NFL because it is all about that second contract, or some other
stupid Omar Kellyish cliche.

If this wasnt considered news why would we have the reaction it has had? A player that could leave early deciding not to declare early is a news update. You dont think sports news outlets would report it if Kaaya decided to stay another yr?

Haha. True but the kid should also realize that his "brand" was being a 5 star recruit and that brand had an expiration date on it. Time to start establishing one that doesn't.

2 things:

1) it shows that our recruits and players come to this site so ninjas need to stop flapping at the mouth

2) CT9 really needs to come back and refine his technique. Kool can make him a lot of money. He has so much potential, and I hate that word, but he really does.
