The Canes went into New Iberia, Louisiana- an area dominated by LSU- and beat out the Tigers for CB Jaboree Antoine. The 6’1, 170-pound Antoine is a four-star player and one of the Top 5 prospects in the state.

Antoine, who was previously committed to LSU, also plays QB and competes in the 300M hurdles, long jump and triple jump. He is recovering from an injury but projects to be full-go this season for the Hurricanes.

Another recruiting law conquered by Mario & Co.

This kid being hurt takes the luster off this one, but this is a monstrous signing for us!

He’s a legit player… nice to go into LSU territory and steal a player they want

Antoine, who head coach Ryan Antoine (Jaboree’s relative) said suffered a meniscus injury but did not elaborate on the extent or details of his specific injury, has continued to rehab this fall ahead of his early enrollment at Miami in January. Ryan said his rehab has gone well and said Jaboree will “be ready for spring ball when Miami starts.”

He just kind of tweaked his meniscus, and then it just got to the point where it was never 100% and guys were playing well, and I just kind of talked with his parents and Jaboree and it was like, ‘Jaboree, just get ready to go,'” Ryan said. “He’s leaving on the 11th to go to Miami, so it was more of him getting himself together and knowing that he needs to get ready for the next step of his career. That’s what that was.”

That is good to hear and nice of his coach to think of the kids future by having him get it taken care of rather than trying to play through it.

This is great news.

If it was a torn meniscus the timetable is usually around 6 months so that would no doubt have him in contention to play next year

That's good, especially if didn't require surgery (which still isn't fully clear?)

Think in general if you are talking surgery and recovery for a tear it goes:
MCL > Meniscus > ACL > PCL > LCL
but I'm not a doctor.

When i heard his nickname was Slime on lil bro wipe ya nose wit em🅱️💚glad hes gonna be good to go

I had meniscus surgery and mine was pretty bad . had lots of bone fractures they removed as well so mine wasn't just some normal chit. took me about 45 to 60 days before I was sort of ok . about 3-4 months later and id say I was ok as far as what I would expect to be back up and running. With all that being said im still not 100% and dont expect to be. But these young kids can bounce back way way better then and old creep like me . lol . probably zero good info here but just thought id share.

My daughter had a partial tear of her PCL. No surgery, a month of rehab/rest, played the rest of the season no problems, but Coach prohibited her from head first sliding when stealing a base as a precaution.
