CB Emmanuel Karnley commits to Miami

Miami added length and speed to its secondary with the commitment of Arizona transfer CB Emmanuel “Manny” Karnley.

The 6’2 185-pound redshirt freshman from Antioch, CA has been timed as fast as 21 MPH, and secured 16 tackles and 5 PBUs in 369 snaps.

Karnley is one of the most coveted corners in the Portal, ranking #6 overall with a four-star rating. He chose Miami over Michigan and Ole Miss and has three years of eligibility remaining.

The Canes will continue to be aggressive in completely overhauling their secondary, and I expect several more additions with length and speed.

Feels like a great time to be levelheaded about the track record in the secondary (some good, a lot of not good) instead of filling your diaper.

Now we are recruiting and getting commitments from corners that are 6'3" a nickel that is 6'0", we gained size at safety moving from Harris to Poyser. O'Connor is 6'1", Taco Davis is 6'4", Xavier Lucas is 6'2".

I see what they are trying to do here. Gonna see how it goes.

I don’t give a **** how tall they are if they don’t have cover skills. “Long and fast” is fine but it’s useless if they don’t have the skills to play the position.

Fair, only one good, but Brown was trending up before getting hurt and I am cautiously optimistic about Patterson. ****, I may be even more curious to see if Ryan Mack is any good. The room needs quality depth more than anything, so I this feels fine by me so long as they aren't done adding.

That's where the development part comes into play. All the talent and measurables don't mean anything if you don't develop them.

Just speaking facts. They knew in March what they had and didn’t have. They believed what they had was good enough. They ruined a special offense and season because there are ******* morons making decisions.

He did not play that way here. Part of that was coaching. Part of it was Ivey himself. But, as I and coaches like TRob said at the time, a big reason he underachieved is because he lost confidence. And that’s due in no small part to maniac fans that were extremely loud on social media.

Maybe he shouldn’t have paid attention to that stuff. But it’s real. Look at how grown men on here react to internet arguments.

He had terrible ball skills and gave huge cushions and that is why he wasn't as impactful as a future NFL player should have been for UM.
