CB Charles Brantley commits to Miami

The 6', 179-pound Brantley had 27 tackles, 2 TFLs and 3 INTs in 2024. According to PFF, he allowed 14 receptions for 149 yards on 37 targets without allowing a touchdown. He also graded out at a strong 77 percent.

Brantley is a graduate of Venice High School on Florida's West Coast, where he also ran the 100M and competed in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.

For his career, Brantley has 103 tackles, 5 TFLs, 5 INTs and two pick sixes. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Miami continues to target corners in the Portal, including Xavier Lucas (Wisconsin), Andrew Marshall (Idaho) and Emmanuel Karnley (Arizona).

I have not heard anything about this, but it would be a loss if true. We could use his instincts and aggressiveness.

I had heard from quite a few players and coaches about his intensity and aggression. Would hate to lose him as we could use a little more edge and competitiveness on defense

One thing was clear, we had a numbers problem. Coaches love Brown, and Lucas and OJ are guaranteed starters. The other 1st and 2nd year guys are also talented. This is a loss for depth though. Nice to have that senior dog in a room where the next guys are entering their 3rd years.

I may be misunderstanding you but I hope the bolded is just you talking, making assumptions and not the way the coaches approach who plays.

This doesnt really help. It really should be 1 transfer(not sit out) and then another one if you are grad transfer. Now if HC leaves then you should be able to transfer and not count towards the free transfer.
