Last night, the Chicago Bears made a move up the the NFL Draft board by selecting Miami Hurricanes cornerback Tyrique Stevenson with the 56th overall pick in the 2nd round. Stevenson, a product of Miami Southridge High School, started his college football journey at the University of Georgia. The Bears traded up four spots with the Jacksonville Jaguars to ensure they could acquire the physical corner, further strengthening their already promising secondary.

After playing his first two seasons at Georgia, Stevenson transferred to the University of Miami, where he continued to develop his skills and caught the attention of NFL scouts. His selection marks the first Hurricane to be picked in this year's draft. This addition to the Bears' roster means their secondary now looks formidable, with Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon joining forces with the newly-drafted Stevenson.

Several other Miami Hurricanes are hopeful of being picked up by NFL teams today during rounds 4-7, or potentially as free agent signings. These prospects include tight end Will Mallory, linebacker Mitchell Agude, cornerback DJ Ivey, offensive lineman DJ Scaife, and punter Lou Hedley amongst others.

Former Miami Hurricanes and Chicago Bears great Devin Hester announced the team's selection.

He was my favorite recruit during that cycle. I loved how he played, south ridge would have been the high school I went to if I stayed in homestead. I was hurt when he chose Georgia but I wasn’t even mad that’s how much I rooted for the kid lol he was solid for the Canes, I’m glad I got to see him in orange and green.

If they keep Jaylon Johnson the Bears lowkey have a nice CB duo, a good Edge in Sweat, and 2 big FA LB signings.
Then they have a **** load of draft pick value - imo should draft qb and trade Fields (the extra 4 years on a rookie deal are worth it no matter what). Probably trade up from pick 5 to 3 to get Marvin Harrison jr would be a smart move tbh. Getting like Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison, and DJ Moore, plus all the rest of the picks they have... they could be cookin.

No reason to trade up. They only have 5 picks total. Take Williams at 1 and then go with Nabers at 5. Bring in some free agent interior offensive linemen. Maybe even draft Lee in the middle rounds.

There is a big enough difference, and the trade up from 5 to like 3 wouldn't be giving more than a 3rd, that it's worth it imo.
Honestly if they can't get Marvin Harrison Jr, I'd draft one of the OTs or EDGE guys. Or I'd trade down to like and try to pick up a future 1st or something. You can't take non Marvin Harrison Jr with a top 4-6 pick.

But yeah they gotta keep building OL and DL.

Always reminded me of Antrel Rolle; more of a ball-denier than a pick artist. Gritty. High character.

Yep. Bottom line they just need to move on from Fields.
