Arizona State QB Transfer Sam Leavitt Signing With LSU

As reported by ESPN, the top quarterback in the transfer portal, Sam Leavitt, is reportedly signing with Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers after visiting several other schools.

The news came from ESPN's Pete Thamel, who mentioned on Monday morning that Sam Leavitt is likely to choose the LSU Tigers over other schools like Miami, Kentucky, and Tennessee, where he also took visits.

During the 2024 season at Arizona State, he passed for more than 2,800 yards, threw 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions, and added over 400 rushing yards along with five rushing touchdowns. Even though his 2025 season was cut short by injuries, Leavitt remained effective. He threw for over 1,600 yards, completed 10 touchdown passes with only three interceptions, and rushed for an additional 300 yards and five touchdowns.

Now, Miami will need to focus on finding a new quarterback. Whoever they target, they will likely pursue hard after missing out on the top quarterback.

This situation is disappointing... But we’ll see who steps up next.

Knew this was coming when he didn't commit to us when he was supposed to. Need to convince Simpson to get out of the draft. If not, can we convince someone to flip? Only uncommitted options I'd even entertain are Longstreet, Pribula, and maybe Air Noland lmao.

Leavitt going to Tenn is silly. That offense doesnt prepare you for the NFL. Rocky top is cool and all that, but if you have serious professional aspirations, youre putting yourself behind the curve.

I don’t think NFL teams have finished their draft prep, it’s still three months away. There’s no way teams already have their boards and grades set. 1/4 of the league don't have HCs, some don’t have GMs.
His father was full of **** saying multiple teams gaven him 1RD feedback, maybe some area scout said it, but that doesn't make it so. The only real possibility is the Advisory Board gave him positive feedback, and even that is just an educated guess.

That’s not true, and Sorsby visited LSU after TTU. We never got a visit because Mario isn’t wasting his time or the kids time. It’s all a numbers game. IF Miami wanted to match/beat TTU offer, Sorsby would’ve been on campus

We've seen this film before, I hope the ending will be the same. The fact that there will be no second transfer portal window is no help for us at the moment.
