Regardless of what happens… I’m never falling for the “we’re gonna get it wrapped up quickly at QB”again. They got me 3 years in a row with that.

They get the benefit of the doubt but I’ve always expected our approach is going to backfire eventually.
@DMoney most of the year pushed the narrative it wasn’t gonna be like that this time. Hopefully it works out like it did the last 2 years but hate the process and sweating it out.

is it possible a quality qb could enter the portal now? maybe someone whose contract we' need to buy out if that's what's done? i'm thinking maybe a guy like minsah could be enticed. no inside info - just a dumbass fan thinking outloud.

I think Miami and Tennessee split Leavitt/Simpson
I hope u are right but i dont see it simpson is guaranteed 1st round pick even tho he not ready or that good yet its just such a weak class a team will take their chance

I think if Dante comes back to Oregon, that might solidify Simpson's decision to go to the NFL. At that point, there is only 1 QB (Mendoza) that is for sure in front of him.

Leavitt gave a number. Miami met the number.

Instead of signing, his camp called around and asked if someone would beat that. Which seems to be the case if we don’t feel good
If true, not have true professional representation is going to cost him, if not this year, in the NFL draft process and league

I agree overall, but I think most professional reps also shop for the best number. That's not out of the ordinary.

If the kid goes to Tennessee he’s a moron. They absolutely sucked this year, fresh off of getting blown tf out in the first round of the 2024 CFP.
Should’ve stayed at ASU rather than going to that **** show.

One thing I cannot figure out is what's the holdup?

I guess one option is that Miami/LSU/Tenn are still actively bidding.

Another option is that Ty Simpson is seriously considering coming back to college, and Tenn and/or Miami is unwilling to take Leavitt until there's finality with Simpson.

We’re so ****ed if Leavitt goes elsewhere. What else are they spending money on?

They do but there is clear understanding of where the process is at. i.e. we are still entertaining all offer vs the framing here that if you give us this we will sign

What would shake his decision?
The word was Cam and Beck didn’t get good feedback.

I haven’t read anything that would indicate that Simpson has gotten feedback that he would be crazy to come out. If that’s the case, I don’t see much of a reason to come back if going pro is what you want to do.

From what Pete said, this essentially was done early this weekend and should've been announced. The more time that passes, the less confident he and D$ feel.
Yeah the only way to explain it would be them making their final rounds to see if someone was more desperate. I don’t blame em. The game is the game.

Yeah I personally don't think Ty Simpson is coming back.

Weak QB class, seems like he's gotten good feedback, and he takes a lot of pride in sitting and staying at Alabama before he got his shot. I think he'd feel uncomfortable going to another college. But hey, money talks.
