Alabama's Ty Simpson signs paperwork to officially enter 2026 NFL Draft

Another day, another name off the quarterback list for Miami...

Ty Simpson, the starting quarterback from Alabama, who made the choice to declare for the draft last week, is officially submitting his paperwork for the NFL Draft, as reported by BamaOnline.

Ty Simpson is now officially heading to the NFL. So, where will Miami turn next?

In fact, Simpson received several offers worth over 7 figures from Power Four teams, including a whopping $6.5 million from one school, according to various reports. AL.com’s Nick Kelly was the first to report these offers. He declined them and is now officially entering his name into the Draft.

Now, after yesterday's news that Sam Leavitt has gone to LSU and Alabama's quarterback Ty Simpson is officially entering the draft, Miami will need to search for someone else in the portal, or should the Hurricanes stick with their current quarterback roster room?

I’m not sure, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Not a board expert, but I believe Cribby said Emory is "head and shoulders" better than the other QBs in practice. My read between the lines takeaway is the Judd and Nickel are not doing well in practice, and we all know Emory is All-Greentree but his success in practice does not translate to games with live hitting. Seems to me there is no way we are rolling with our existing room.

It’s just crazy man. We’re in the NC game, we have a proven track record with Cam/Beck, top tier NIL…seems like portal QB’s would be begging to come here. Not counting us out yet, but seems like we’re running out of options.

We are not. We literally have this same conversaation every year for the last 3 and no one learns. D$ said as much and people refuse to believe him because they'd rather mope. If they thought Emory was the guy they wouldn't have kicked the tires on Leavitt, who had injury and character concerns as it was or backed up the Brinks truck for Sorsby. They will bring someone in. My guess is someone not really on anyone's radar at the moment.

Emory has an extra year in the system so he should be better. He's shown toughness but ... that's not nearly enough. East Carolina seems the better fit.
