Duke Johnson reminds me of Priest Holmes

Alex Collins reminds me of Marshawn Lynch

Terrible comparison, Duke is MUCH more explosive than Priest holmes.

Priest Holmes was plenty explosive for somone with 2 reconstructed knees. He set the NFL single season rushing record despite not explosive, apparently.

Holmes' running style, the way he would cut, his balance, all those things are like Johnson. And before the injuries, he was plenty explosive.

I'm thinking 3 years from now we will be saying Duke is like Duke and there are no comparisons. I think we all agree that he has the physical talent and the vision to be great, not just on a college level but the next level as well.
As for his size. I remember when Portis came to Denver weighing less than 200lbs and after a month of training camp they asked Shanahan if Portis was big enough to take the pounding, and Shanny said basically, "don't know, but I do know we haven't been able to touch him much less hit him in camp."
I know FSU and UF wish they had him, along with 118 other teams in the FBS.

I honestly think Duke's style is most like Walter Payton's. I looked up Sweetness' highlights just to make sure because that's a bold comparison.

They both can cut on a dime, have similar runnning styles, can catch, and despite not being the biggest of backs, they both weren't afraid to stick their nose in and power through a defender.

As long as he can keep his good health, I expect Duke to live up to that comparison. I guess as far as the NFL goes though, he'd have to not get stuck on a **** team like Barry Sanders, the GOAT, did. Not even the GOAT could overcome being on the Lions.

Duke isn't scared to go between the tackles. If it's 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1, he's getting that yard.

I was mostly just comparing "styles" or whatever though. But I can see Duke becoming that type of guy if some of the cards fall in his favor. Sweetness was fortunate enough to be on one of the best NFL teams. Not every great back gets that shot.

Im with Dwins, its very close but Collins is certainly more NFL type than Duke

Collins is a very special player, very special.... so is Duke, don't get me wrong.... but Collins is that south florida back that seems destined for NFL greatness

I see alot of trent in him it depends if he can put on the wieght im not to sure on the body type stuff. But yea kid has NFL written all over him, I love me some Duke but duke gotta show me in big games make big plays like Moss said. Againt the best Duke didnt show so im expecting more from Duke next year the kid is a great no doubt though.

You sound like you think Duke underperformed this year.
UM freshmen rushing record playing part time and half the year with turf toe. A lot of people think these injuries guys suffer are just like a bruise or something minimal.
I hear guys say all the time, "it's just a pinched nerve, man up p u s s y."
I've had pinched nerves my whole life ever since I broke my back in the military, and it's the worse pain in the world.
And turf toe? Take off your shoe and slam your foot into the wall and tell me how it feels.
I can't imagine being a running back with turf toe.
You see Trent Richardson in Alex Collins? Even though they are completely different styles of running back?
Collins is a real good if not great high school running back, but Duke is a once in a generation type of running back.
The last running back I saw like Duke as a freshmen played in Gainesville named Emmitt Smith and before that it was a guy very few people saw as his team was on a television ban. He played at Oklahoma State and is, in my opinion, the greatest running back who ever lived, Barry Sanders.

I feel what your saying I love Duke but against FsU KSU and ND he did not do nothing and in Miami big time players gotta make big plays against good comp and he was absent. If he is asked to carry the load without another back (Alex Collins). I cannot see him carry it 2t5 plus times and stay healthy I just cant see it. Thats why off durability I would take AC, but hopefully Duke proves me wrong then I will eat my crow. In the end no matter what I want the Canes to win and I respect your opinion and you have valid points. In the end this is why we are here to discuss opinions nothing is fact until they retire I guess.

How many true freshman step right in and dominate against good teams in college, not many.

No one showed up on offense against FSU, ND, and KSU.

seems to have some personal pictures up though. Unless someone is really taking it to a ridiculous level and using facebook pictures or something

Payton didn't play with a pro bowl lineman until 1985. The Bears were terrible a good majority of the years he was there.

Duke reminds me of Marshall Faulk if I had to make a comparison.
