I'm biased, but I think this kid would be better served to come to Miami.
DMV players we've signed this decade didn't really work out -- for them, or us. Talking about Chris Lykes, Earl Timberlake, Anthony Walker, Chris Watson, and Favour Aire. A pretty large sample for a short timeframe.

Jordan Miller def did play outstanding ball for us but ... he was a transfer, not a HS recruit like the ones I mentioned and Acaden.

Don't think it is fair or accurate to say that Chris Lykes didn't work out.
If you'd seen Lykes play at Gonzaga HS in the DC Catholic League, you'd have been disappointed too with his play at UM.

Underwhelming in college and never improved year to year at UM or Arkansas. Flashed shooting range but inconsistent as ****.

I don't know what you two are talking about. Lykes was the leading scorer during two of the three years he played at UM. We've also had several other kids from the DMV, like Johnny Hemsley and Jack McClinton, who were great at the U.

Also, Earl Timberlake may not have been a great player at UM. He did help lead his team to the NCAA Tournament this past year.

Name GP MIN PTS REB AST STL BLK TO FG% FT% 3P%
2019-20 Chris Lykes G 26 30.1 15.4 2.1 2.4 1.1 0.3 2.1 43.2 81.4 38.1
2018-19 Chris Lykes G 32 33.8 16.2 2.7 3.2 1.3 0 2.9 40.6 78.1 31.8
2017-18 Chris Lykes G 32 21.6 9.6 1.2 2.3 0.8 0 1.8 40.2 72 34.5

Look at those 3 point percentages. Do they look good to you?? And you left off the 28% he hit as a Sr at Arkansas.

That perimeter shooting was why we and everyone else recruited him. It sure as **** wasn't for his defense.

I've lived in the DC-Balto area since 1967 so I've seen all the great HS talents there in my time. Chris, to me, was very disappointing.

I only listed HS recruits from 2020 to today. If you want to go all the way back, there were the two you mentioned, McClinton and Hemsley. We can add Kevin Norris, Michael Gardner, Joe Wiley, Jerome Scott, James Palmer and I'm sure more I'm forgetting.

Fast forward a year and he’ll be at Miami after Neptune gets ****canned.

Not sure how true it is but the number I was told on Acaden Lewis’ NIL deal to ‘Nova is crazy. I don’t blame Miami at all for not signing him.

Good players portal every season now always working the auction.

College sports have been comprised, erosion of sports is well on the way.

We should find another word other than “sports “the integrity of it is gone .

Guy is supposed to commit: Wow, huge. Jai sure needed the logo right?

Guy is going to commit elsewhere: Who cares, had you all ever even heard of him?

CIS being CIS thread…

Peacocking and chest pumping followed by blaming the bag.
