The encouraging thing about Austin is his legit size/track speed combo. He is a top tier prospect on the physical side. And he is dominating this level so it's not like the production is lacking.

Exactly. 6'3" and running 10.6's ... I'm not as concerned with the talent level.

Do you know if he's been on campus for any of the events since Richt was hired or if the staff has visited him in person for a game? If they've seen him perform in person, then I don't really worry about the competition.

Running 10.6 where?

According to his official track times, that's not true at all: Kevin Austin - FL Track and Field Profile

We get it.

You're a new poster, with single digit posts, and 90% of your posts have been bashing Austin and trying to convince people he's not Miami quality. Why don't you go post on some other P5 team boards too?. All the ones that have offered him.

In any event, get used to it, Miami likes him and a bunch of other schools like him too. I guess it really bothers you, and it's eating you up inside. The question I have is, why? Why do you feel every single post has to be trying to say the kids not a player?

There's something else going on here.

This kid is one of my favorite WR in this class, he just looks so fluid and smooth for a guy his size. My ideal recruiting class would include Austin, Pope, Wiggins, and Copeland

I am with you on the first 3. I don't think we need 4 Wr's unless Jeff Thomas does not make it in. And I like smart kids on the team. A team full of Prop 48 types is just not good for championship level play.

Offered him? lolol Why?

Pass on this kid..........NBP plays no one!

Their class is lower than 1A.

He is dominating his comp is what matters. There are a ton of top recruits every year who dont play good comp in high school.

You think Miami is going to offer a kid that doesn't dominate his comp?

Make some sense. The kid won't play here.

He'll be another Jermaine McKenzie.

Yep. Dugans said he didnt play good comp in high school and still went to fsu and then the nfl.

Just referencing Pete's original post

"He has a personal best time of 10.9 in the 100M, but his coach believes he can get that down to 10.6 during track season. "

Ray Lewis III dominated a bunch of Poindexters too in HS.

Ray Lewis 3 wasn't 6'3" with track speed, crazy body control, glue hands, and that Duke stiff arm (can't teach those things). This kid has 31 offers including Da U,OSU, Florida, Michigan and Michigan state, ND, Oregon, Wisky.. we gotta lock him down before the SEC bag men come knocking!!

How do you lock someone down before the bag men come calling? There's no early signing period yet. If he's susceptible to the bag game, then he'll be open to it at any time in the process.

As for his stiff arm, it's easier to stiff arm 5'6" 134 pound Howie Schwartz than it is to do that to some fire-breathing goon. I'm open to UM going after this guy, but I'm skeptical based on the vomit level competition he's toasting.

So then he never ran a 10.6. And his 10.9 is closer to 11 because it's really 10.98. Going from 11 to 10.6 would be pretty incredible for a guy who looks to have matured physically already.

Trust me, the guy's the goods. I've seen him play live and he's that team's entire offense, he dominated v. Calvary & Archbishop even though they lost.

Because he was making everyone look silly at the SFL Fire tryouts

How many of those TRYOUT DB's were guys that actually made the team?

lol that's probably the most exclusive team in SFL and you're still questioning the talent he faced there

I can tell you don't know much

You said he was making guys look silly at TRYOUTS. Did all the guys at the tryouts make the team?

Obviously not everybody made SFL Express 7 on 7 team, but he was facing trenell troutman, Divaad Wilson, Dominick Watt, Maxwell Worship, and Darius Brown were among them

Kevin Austin had 10.98 PR as a 10th grader.

Phillip Dorset had a 10.79 PR as an 11th grader.

Speed won't be an issue with him.

Andre3000 has a hardon for him. I wonder why?

Staff has some decisions make and obviously the kids do to, as some kids will choose elsewhere...

Got the feeling Wiggins and Pope are in and they will wait on Pope even if he decides to drag it out...I think they'll wait a while on Hightower too IF they think the interest is legit. Maybe a Babb or out of stater gets waited on too if a serious option

Then you got Gammage, Austin, Harris, Schwarz, Moore, maybe Copeland, maybe Thompson...And that's not even including if Munroe, Oliver, Lipscomb, Watt (FS?) types take a step forward and work way into convo

Get them all to Paradise and let evolution take place. Survival of the fittest. That's how I knew Harley was going to be an animal. He beat the best DBs So Florida threw at him.

can remember when NBP had Michael Moore dominating jits

dude went on to play at UGA and do squat

I wonder if Austin ends up at Deerfield or Gibbons his SR year since hes from Pompano

STA or Monarch is more likely

i questioned their early evals at wr last year.

I believe he shouldve been a spring eval kid. Him and Watt are on the same tier..i like Watt a little more. I wouldve let it play out at Paradise camp to be honest.

His comp really really scares me...There is not 1 div 1 player on his WHOLE schedule...i could care less about 7 on 7 tryouts as well considering there are bums there as well.

Want to see him against the elite of the elite down here...will watch moving forward this spring.

You can get deez nuts with all this new poster crap.

I didn't bash that kid's ability once...I bashed his competition, stated facts about his supposed 100 meter time and even gave this board and factual comparison in former Cane Jermain mckenzie who played the same type of comp in high school but could not cut it here.

Unlike you, I've played the game in college and I currently coach high school football.

Stick to being a fan or some message board super hero...either way. Ignore button for you loser.
