2014 QB White would listen to Miami

2014 University School QB Sean White was one of the top performers at the Miami NFTC on Sunday, as he came away with the MVP award for his position group.

“I just wanted to show what I could do and come out here and compete,” White said.

The polished quarterback is focusing on the mental side of his game in the offseason.

“I want to keep watching film and learning how to attack different defenses and getting the timing down with my receivers.”

White holds offers from West Virginia, USF, and Syracuse amongst others right now, while also keeping in contact with Notre Dame, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida State.

“I haven’t narrowed it down yet. I’m just taking my time with it through the spring,” White said.

The pro-style QB has interest in Miami, but the 'Canes haven't showed much interest since the addition of Hialeah QB Alin Edouard.

"I know Coach Coley is a new coach and that they have Alin Edouard as a quarterback, so I don't know where they're going from there since I haven't really spoken to them since then."

Although Miami isn't in the picture right now, White says he'd be willing to listen.

"I'd definitely consider them since it's the hometown team and I grew up rooting for them. It would be a cool thing."

After transferring from Chaminade this semester, White is trying to familiarize himself with his new teammates up until spring ball.

"Right now I'm just getting used to my receivers since I transferred over and I'm getting ready for the season."

Just am not impressed by him at all hes a nice player but if hes a starter for your team you wont win much

He will be a good college quarterback. Tough and very efficient.

He's the guy I'd take next to Edouard. Very low bust potential.

But not big upside either hes like a Ken Dorsey type which when we are back to being great i will take but now not so much

Yeah, Ken Dorsey types are horrible.

Ken Dorsey types need all-americans littered around him. We need those too

Right.... Griffin, Coley, Doubard, Yearby and Elder

Saw him play a few games. He is a very impressive quarterback, but he didn't wow me.

Don't know why White would necessarily be considered a "low ceiling" guy, though I understand what that may mean. It may mean he's like an Andy Dalton. To me, despite a lack of flash, those are very valuable guys.

Yup And that list could still get bigger and better...;)

We got qb already. Not going to take two a year, especially with having crow/Dewey, Olsen coming in prior to him. Let's focus on some d lineman already

Give me a Dorsey, Steve Walsh, Bernie Kosar, Gino Torretta any day of the week over anybody anytime, if any recruit plays like those I just named gladly will take them over anybody. This preference or thought process of dual style or pro style or any style is ridiculous, all great quarterbacks and all great championship teams don't win without all americans littered THROUGHOUT THE TEAM. You think Charlie Ward won at fswho cus of just his style of play, him and only him? tebow and the turds won his only title as starter only cus of him? It's a team game and the all americans are littered on championship teams regardless of the style of play from the quarterback. Recruit a stud player and winner regardless of style period

Hate to bring it up, but Doug Flutie begs to differ. A winner is a winner. Doesn't care about anything but winning. Never stops trying to win no matter what the score is until the clock ticks to zero. Doesn't matter if his team is loaded with all-americans or not. You play with what you got and play to each players' strengths. I want a quarterback that will do anything to win. Never stops trying to figure out a way to win. That's what I look for in a quarterback.

Sounds like you just described Quinton Flowers

Anyone who thinks Dorsey was just "good", needs to have their head examined. He was an exceptional college QB. Perhaps one of the greatest of all-time.

Ive been to a couple spring practices and IMO we got 1 very good QB in Morris and 1 servicable back up in Williams.
Crow is below avg. Cement footed and throws bad ball.
Dewey looks a little better. But not world beater.
Olsen is suppose to be the truth.
Whether it be White or another guy, we need 2 QBS in class.

We "need" DT's and Big DE's that can transition to DT. We need to over recruit at DT for the next couple years in hopes that some will develop into all americans. Its good we're getting on all these offensive players early and I believe we've turned the corner on being the school of choice in South Fl. But the recruiting wars have to be won for the guys in the trenches. Until then we're still a C++ in recruiting.
