2014 DL Chad Thomas (Booker T. Washington) is already a huge name for his recruiting cycle and has the ‘Canes near the top of his list. He was at SunLife Stadium to see the ‘Canes pull of a dramatic win over NC State yesterday.

“It was fun and exciting. I like how Miami came up big. I was happy it wasn’t a boring game.”

There was a lot of talk prior to the season about Miami possibly struggling because of youth, but Thomas isn’t surprised by their 4 wins thus far.

“It doesn’t surprise me they way they’ve played because that’s how Booker T is. We were young last year and young this year and we’re still winning. They got the same mentality that we have. No matter what they did last week, just watch film, look at our mistakes and correct it.”

Thomas was feeling the love from ‘Canes fans yesterday at the game.

“It feels good that people know me, I’m loving Miami. It’s cool hearing from fans that feel like they know me good enough to tell me the place they know is good for me. The fans, the atmosphere is what I like. The atmosphere, the people I know, and it’s easy to get home is just really comfortable for me.”

In nearly every interview Thomas has done, he has stayed firm that FSU and Miami are tied for his services. Now he is saying that the ‘Canes have a slight lead.

“It’s pretty much still even, but Miami is out ahead a little bit. I like FSU a lot, I still want them to do well, but at Miami I just feel real comfortable right now.”

While they aren’t related, Chad is very close to 5-star linebacker Matthew Thomas. Chad had some interesting insight on Matthew’s recruitment.

“I really don’t know because ‘6’ plays a lot. He’s good at keeping secrets. He’s just chilling right now, focusing on our season and keeping his options open. If I’d have to say right now though, I’d go Miami.”

FWIW Noles think both Chad and Matthew Thomas are already in the bag. I'm saying this because the board goes into meltdown mode every time FSU's name is mentioned in relation to a prospect. These quotes from Chad's own mouth show how bad that FSU info is, and we all should trust the staff to convince these kids to stay close to home. 2 weeks from now FSU will probably be "leading" again.

D$ or Pete What is the size of Chad Thomas

Also Pete was is the size of Winky Flowers? I want anybody named winky on my team period!

I've seen him personally and he kind of reminds me of #99 from LSU with his body frame and what it can possibly grow into.

Al Golden is just gonna get dirty in these next two classes I can tell he knows it local stud time

This is one of those deals. Once one of the dominoes fall, they will all follow.

Kirkland, Thomas, Thomas etc.

These guys are gonna stay home in the end. The can say whatever they want right now.
