‘26 QB Dereon Coleman commits to Miami

Miami has its QB of the future. 2026 blue-chip QB Dereon Coleman of Jones High School (Orlando) announced that he will be a Cane.

The 6’1, 165 gunslinger is no stranger to competition, as he beat out Elite 11 senior QB Trever Jackson as a sophomore and outshining multiple highly-regarded quarterbacks at Miami’s recent camp.

Coleman completed 63% of his passes for 2,236 yards, 16 TDs and 6 INTs as a sophomore. He also added 4 TDs on the ground.

He is Miami’s third commitment of the ‘26 class, joining WR Malachi Toney and LB Jordan Campbell.

They aren't interested, he left the Junior Day last month without an offer lol.

And he said if they don't offer him after that he won't consider them.

6. QB Dereon Coleman – Miami

No quarterback at Under Armour Miami showed more zip on their passes than Dereon Coleman. The Miami commit has a whippy, quick release with no wasted motion. He gets the football up and out in a split second and it jumps out of his hand. Coleman easily drove his throws to the perimeter and was at his best when he could rip passes to the intermediate level. The Orlando (Fla.) Jones standout can continue to improve changing speeds on his passes and will have to tack on considerable mass to his thin frame at the next level. With that said, there is no doubt Coleman’s arm stacked up well with the best on hand.
