This is the type of game Mario loves. He is what he is. You don’t learn time management and change your ultra conservative zero risk philosophy at his age.

Make Ponce the OC. Spread out your playmakers and lets ride. I would take Ponce as OC over Gat-***

Except that our QBs look like ***. That's like wanting to put Garcia in ahead of TVD when TVD was throwing picks.

It’s not just his trash offensive scheme, it’s his garbage play calling and **** poor clock management. How do you call a run play on third and long if you have no intention of going for it on fourth down? Why do we bleed the clock down when we’re losing and snap the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock when we’re winning? I wouldn’t hire Josh Gattis to be an assistant water boy on a pee wee team. He’s garbage and the sooner he’s fired, the better.

They may not actively defend, but there are many who have the impulse to deflect and shift focus. In today's game thread there were different versions of the same reaction: "Gattis may not be it, but these players are jags. Andy Reid couldn't do anything with these bums."

The problem with that thinking is when players are badly coached and practiced for an entire offseason in a horrible scheme, how can you have any certainty that the ineptitude you see would exist if the coaching and offensive plan had been radically different for the entire offseason? The way Lashlee had us looking last year vs. Gattisball is night and day.

We could SCORE last year. In our last 7 games (all against power-5 teams) - we scored 42, 31, 38, 33, 28, 38 & 47.

This year against power-5 we are 9, 24, 20, 21 & 14.

Yes, we need more talent in the future to excel as a program, but focusing on complaints about current players is a huge deflection from what's really wrong right now and in desperate need of correction.

If there are any it’s gotta be a minuscule portion of the fanbase.
Turned into footballvilles show and there are multiple people defending Gattis….

Dan Enos against FBS teams in 2019: 22.58 points per game
Josh Gattis against FBS teams in 2022: 21.29 points per game

Enos inherited a terrible offensive team with the two headed combination of Jarren Williams and N'Kosi Perry at QB
Gattis inherited an offense that scored 34 points per game and one of the nation's top returning quarterbacks.

I didn't think we could do worse than Dan Penos but here we are.

Mario chokes in the red zone. Chokes when it’s time to clock and timeout manage. He struggles whenever he hastily actually use his brain and not just his mouth
Speeches are scripted. Games are not. The best way to tell you have an idiot for a head coach is their clock management, and timeout management. I don't think Mario can ever accumulate enough talent to win big here. If he can't do better with the talent we currently have, against the scrubs we are struggling to beat, how the **** is he ever going to compete with the big dogs? He has some beat downs coming his way when he plays a real coach with equal or greater talent. We've seen what lower level coaches with lesser talent do to him.
