Zero redeeming qualities – this is my least favorite Miami team in my lifetime and it’s not even close

Offense is lethargic – while our offensive scheme and play calling are bad, what I hate even more is how slow it is. No hurry up, no sense of urgency and we refuse to put the ball in the hands of our playmakers. As TE U, why have we seen little-to-no Tight End usage all year? Why isn’t Thad in the game on short yardage? Why isn’t Knighton being used for screen passes and wheel routes? Why do we do bunch formations allowing defenses to disguise their blitzes (which btw, is how TVD got hurt in the first place)? Nothing about this offense excites me. Nothing.

Defense bends AND breaks – we saw and hated what D’Onofrio did with elite talent. Diaz took a passive, weak defense and turned it into a juggernaut and did so mostly through very aggressive play calling and letting talented players do what they do best. What I’m seeing right now is a mix of passive play calling AND not allowing our skill players to actually use their skills. Leonard Taylor not getting maximum snaps? James Williams not being allowed to blitz? DBs not being allowed to press the wideouts on the snap? Defensive Ends being asked to QB spy on third and long? You name it, we’re doing the opposite of what made the 2017-2020 defenses so good.

Zero leadership – the closest thing this team has to a “team leader” is Gilbert Frierson. No one else speaks up, no one else stands tall. And the sad part is he isn’t even sniffing the field at this point. ****, I’d even take a few coaches getting fired up at this point, but no one seems to care we are losing to the likes of MTSU and Duke.

Let’s be clear, anyone who is saying “we just need Mario’s recruits” is missing the bigger issue here – this team is poorly coached, poorly developed and they appear to think every game is a scrimmage because that’s how they are playing. They are unprepared, lack energy and are not showing any redeemable qualities I would want to see next season. I love Miami football and this is not Miami football. For me, this season is a low point and that’s saying something compared to the last 20 years.

Mainly agree...but No'D didn't have elite talent. A few very good players...yeah, but not elite players across the board.

FYI...I couldn't stand No'D's non defense

I only read the bold parts and i agree

Totally embarrassing.
If this dude doesn't realize that what they are doing isn’t working and makes massive changes on offense and defense it wont matter how well he recruits. We know the problems on offense and but zero reason the defense to be this awful as well.

My level of indifference has reached a new low. I left at halftime to beat traffic and watch other teams play. I have never done that before.

I’m not shocked with our performance, but I am disappointed.

Our fans showed up. It was a packed crowd and it was 80/20 at best. Yet, the team laid a massive egg.

They didn't become bad coaches overnight. There's too much prior success and experience in that coaching group to think that.

Here's an example as to why it's clearly the players - #24 caught an INT in the endzone and proceeds to run it back and get pushed out at our own 2 yard line. He's meant to be an experienced, talented, smart player. You think the coaches are telling him to do something that moronic?

Obviously that play was wiped out by #2, supposedly our best DB, blatantly grabbing the FSU receiver for DPI because he got beat like a drum. Are they coaching that too?

I'd kill to go back to the probation era canes at this point even. Atleast I had some hope. No chance this program ever comes back. Tonight really shows it.

Listen if we were losing close games to good teams due to a handful of bad plays and mistakes by players I'd agree with you. But we are getting blown out by the likes of MTSU, Duke and a very mediocre FSU team (all at home mind you!). Again, we've all seen some bad teams in the past 15+ years, but between this coaching staff and the talent we have on both sides of the ball, there should be zero excuses for what we've seen on the field. None.
