Zach McCloud was dominate today..

We can be as cynical as we want about Manny but that doesn’t mean we have to **** on everyone. Zach was a bad LB plain and simple. He kicks outside and has turned into our best pass rusher. Imagine if our genius HC, who’s specialty is supposed to be LB, saw this in him early on and he developed for 4 years at DE? I remember him coming off the edge his freshman year toward the end of the season and thought there was something there. Manny sees him 365 and keeps playing the guy in space. Zach has a had a good season and deserves a ton of credit.
Yeah it would have been interesting to see if he could have developed into a solid d end. He is kind of an anomaly size wise at the position.

Agree that his size wasn’t ideal but look at what Trent Harris in ‘17. “Toolbox” was the whipping boy for years during Golden and found his calling in Manny’s D. I do think Trent has better instincts and is more physical at the POA but who knows what ZM would’ve been with development.

He's exactly what I expected, tbh. I figured he could be Trent Harris good at DE. But I hoped he would be rotational just like Trent was, because Harvey, Chantz and Johnson (and I thought Cam Williams at the time, smh) would be much better than they've showed so far.

Anyone complaining about McCloud's performance is carrying over a grudge from last year's LB fiasco. The kid is a good DE. I just hoped for Rousseau/Roche level DEs, or Garvin/Jackson/Chad/Rousseau level DEs, which is why I'm disappointed with the situation, not with McCloud himself.

Harvey is a total disappointment. Out of all the guys we’ve had over the last few years I thought he’d be right up there. I wish Shemar would see his opportunity here.

Time to put some respect on McCloud's name

Possibly most consistent player on this defense?!

High motor/great effort.. has really improved his technique quickly. Played out of position for years.

Was un-blockable today! So happy for him.
Agreed. McCloud has overcome playing the wrong position for 4 years and in one off season and 9 games he has improved steadily to the point of being the best DE on the team surpassing highly touted players like Jafari Harvey and Chantz Williams.

Through most all of his time here he has had to hear what a disappointment he was in addition to being labeled a jag and a bust. Yet through all of that he never lashed out, never pouted or wallowed in self pity or spewed venom at fans vis social media. No, he just kept his mouth shut and worked, worked and worked some more. Now he is beginning to reap the fruits of his hard work and people are taking notice. With Zach's attitude, determination and work ethic I would not be one bit surprised to see him have a solid NFL career. Not as a superstar or a dominant starter necessarily but as a consistent and hard working player that a staff can count on.

Major props to Zack. He took a bad situation and made something out of it. I love to see young men like this succeed.

Dare I say, if we dont get a steroid shot at DE in the offseason through the portal or through someone stepping up, that we might miss him next year? (Shut my mouth, I know. Dont neg me. Lol)
