At this point, it's not like the roster is loaded with OL depth. Even if he's a bit of a project you've got to have versatile guys who can sub in the rotation (especially if he can play G and C) and be ready in case of injury. It would be nice having All Americans to back up All Americans but given what they've got on the line currently, then need all the help they can get.

OL is incredibly difficult to project from HS to college from gametape. First, many guys across the country play lousy competition and win strictly on size/strength. Second, most kids have HORRIBLE line coaching in HS, if any. It's the same reason you see mid level teams with good Oline play and many unknown guys get drafted or have long careers in the NFL as undrafted free agents.

Oline is only part athleticism and technique - which is what you would see at paradise. But it's also smarts....learning a guys trends/moves, being a step ahead of your defender (when he's stronger, or quicker and you have to compensate), looking for keys, knowing the calls, etc........as well as demanor, tenacity, will, attitiude, stamina and consistency. How are you going to react after 3 quarters of a guy smacking you heads up? How are you going to react when it's hot and you're tired? When it's cold and everything hurts? How are you going to react when a guy beats you....b/c it will happen.
