YouTube TV loses ESPN/Disney

When DIRECTV started this BS many years ago, I canceled them. They outpriced themselves & YoutubeTV just came out. Full circle moment today. I cancelled YTTV & signed up for DirectTV streaming ($49 for one month). Gives unlimited ESPN+ access. Also cancelled Disney, Paramount, peacock & basically any other app I could get into that we never watch. Kids are going to be ****ed. Don’t give Dad a power trip & spare time lol..

Direct tv lets you cancel free for 5 days. I’ll just take the discounted month while these greedy Fs figure it out. FYI. For the record the app is really nice. Go Canes!

We used to have anti trust laws to keep mega corporations from owning everything but apparently, that’s communism so pay the ******* Mouse or don’t watch TV is our option today.
Amazing, isn't it? How they pulled that trick! The average Joe is now in step with the trillionaires and trust them as if they give two poops about them.

ESPN pretty much has rights to all the major sports in the US. I’m sure in long term their plan was to squeeze all the cable companies out and sift all viewers over to their platform.

Smart actually.

They don’t need these cable companies anymore. Won’t have to share or give up the ad money.. everything will remain with them.

Not mad at it to be honest. These ******* cable companies have been raping our pockets since the beginning of time, and made it seem like streaming would make things better.. it was in the beginning, but now these streaming cable companies are just as much, if not more than what cable box use to be.

**** em.. and let em all burn

So, the streaming companies now have us over a barrel. We're not better off. Average joe tv watcher loses. I just updated my Disney+ app to include ESPN Unlimited. Why? Because I'm addicted to football.

here's the move people! (That doesn't give into Disney/ESPN)

sling tv day pass - they have TIZEN and google tv apps so it's a solid interface like YouTube TV / Hulu and has been around for more than a decade

$4.99 for the day, $9.99 for the weekend

personally, I don't watch espn except for saturdays because I can't stomach any of their dumbass hosts or shows

4 Saturdays at $4.99 a pop is $20.00 a month for sling -- YouTube TV is giving subscribers a $20 credit for losing ESPN

= wash

I also had to get creative because I have sunday ticket so I'm not cancelling YouTube tv and losing that

With this move - does sling have DVR capabilities like YTTV has?

Anyone else getting this blank screen on sling? Can’t access the day pass

I know sling tv has a free 50 hours of DVR for day pass and free users (they have a free tv option with random channels)

for what it's worth I got an error when buying the day pass but when I logged into the slingtv app on my phone and tv it loaded fine (because I saw the charge went through)

Thanks! Had almost added ESPN to our Disney+ account. Love the Mouse but ***** their greediness,

Reminder

Disney wants you to sign up directly with them

Boycott Hulu Live, Fubo since Disney owns 70% and their app

Seems Sling and DirecTV Stream are the options

We also had consumer protection agencies that were designed to keep these things from happening but they got the ax. Or the chainsaw.

Don’t even have to switch up. Use Fubo. When your free trial runs out (make sure you cancel) just put a period somewhere in your email address and sign up for a new free trial. I did this for months a couple of years ago until getting tired of not being able to have saved recordings when I started a new trial. But for strictly watching games it works.

Example, when you do your first trial use your normal email, we’ll say “TwentySix@gmail.com”. At the end of the trial, do a new one with “Twenty.Six@gmail.com”. Gmail doesn’t track periods within emails so you’ll get them all sent to your regular email regardless. You could put “T.w.e.n.t.y.S.i.x@gmail.com” and it would still go the inbox of TwentySix@gmail.com when they send the verification email
Reminder^

Yes, it’s Fubo who is now owned by Disney. But they aren’t seeing a dime on this one.
