YouTube TV loses ESPN/Disney

ESPN Unlimited will. Peacock’s sports are mostly included via NBCSN.

I stand corrected. That surprises me, not sure why Disney would agree to that.

With Peacock, mostly is the key word. I assume you said mostly because there are some NBA, college, and special NFL games that only come on Peacock and not NBC.

Disney has been including it in all their renewals (and charging extra of course).

The NFL exclusive was specifically carved out from Peacock, but otherwise it’s just a function of Peacock airing multiple games as a streaming service and NBCSN only having space for one at a time.

I am guessing b/c Google agreed to give them a bigger cut for those packages.

Making up numbers for example purposes, but let's say the standard package is $80 and Google gives ESPN $12 of that. Maybe the new package is $45 and ESPN gets $15.

Google doesn't care as even though they would be giving ESPN more, they wouldn't need to give foxnews, cnn, history channel, hallmark channel, etc money so they end up making the same or more.

I canceled my YouTube TV when this problem started, but it had just renewed for the current month. I may have the next three games. If not, I will purchase a sling TV day pass when needed.
Did the same. Picked up Fubo for a month. The only things I watch are sports and cooking shows.

But the price for ESPN Unlimited is $29.99 a month. I don't see how Youtube TV could include that into a package and it still be cheaper than what people already pay for Youtube TV.

Well my numbers were just made up and we don't know what Google will charge for the service, but if ESPN is charging $29.99 a month, maybe they charge only Google $22 a month b/c they know there are some people that just want to go to one place to buy their channels vs having to go to 5 different places. Similar to how you can buy an iphone directly from Apple or buy it from Bestbuy for the same price.
