YouTube TV loses ESPN/Disney

So they raised their prices in January, then drop ESPN on Nov 1. I assume there will be a price drop since they all blame ESPN for their high prices.
Email I got from them this morning:

In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience. Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library.

We know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, which is why it’s our goal to bring Disney content back to YouTube TV. We’re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement, but if their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $20 credit.

You can continue to watch Disney’s sports programming by signing up for ESPN directly. For more information on the impact to our 4K Plus and Spanish Plus add-ons, please visit our Help Center.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to advocate on behalf of our subscribers and work towards a new agreement with Disney. We will continue to update our Help Center with the latest. As always, family managers have the ability to cancel anytime.

We appreciate your YouTube TV membership.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team

Just a one time $20 credit. YouTube TV has as much fault in this as they always try to get bottom floor pricing.

Crap. I was about to switch from Hulu to YT for the multi-view. Anyone figure out a PIP/multi-view for Hulu?

I've was out of the country in September and YTTV won't let you watch it, even with a VPN from the US. I was, however, able to watch most major NCAA games through YouTube. For some reason YouTube lets these pirate streams of games happen, so I was able to watch the Canes live streamed by xau chin lou. (made up name). Just search for "live football" or "Miami hurricanes football "

I love the YTTV multi-view on College Football Saturday. My wife will be happy now since I haven’t been getting much done around the house on Saturdays.

I am annoyed. I do have the ESPN+ App that I pay for to watch my soccer and college baseball so I should be able to watch the Canes there.

smh. I just paid my yttv bill on the 28th. Might be benifical though because with the 4 way multiview and multiple devices, I havent had a productive Saturday since the season started lol...
ESPN has multiview too if you’re planning to switch

Just an FYI, if you have Xfinity internet you should be able to get all of the regular ESPN programming for free on the ESPN app. That would include ESPN, ESPN 2, and ACCN. Just open the app on your tv and log in with your Xfinity credentials.

Man, I love how ESPN/ABC’s whole “go to this site and sign the petition to get us back on” sob story is basically just me signing up for higher YTTV rates down the road. Let’s call it what it is — The Mouse House wants ridiculous money and knows they’ve got leverage with the ESPN streaming app.

That said, it sucks not having the game tomorrow. I’ll find a way to watch without signing their BS petition.

This is exactly where I am as well. At this point the only reason I still have YTTV is for my local channels…guess a digital antenna is in order.

ESPN is on the hook for huge money to the conferences. They need to get that cash from somewhere. Part of me hopes the house of cards comes down and the school distributions become a bit more reasonable.

If any of you have Spectrum, included in the basic cable TV package are free apps including Disney+ and ESPN. I have an account for my MIL and created an app account a little bit ago and waiting for it to activate. I can already use the ESPN app on my iPad.

Not sure about that! You would need log in info to watch games on regular ESPN on the app which would be your YTTV log in

I swear last time this happened with someone else, they could not use ESPN app to watch the games
