Your Clemson Game Plan (Offense)

What's your game plan for next Saturday?

Here's my game plan for Clemson:

1. Run Homer on 1st down, but not just in the middle. He really gets better as the game goes along.
2. Throw deep only: (1) on a sudden change, (2) when Clemson subs a corner, or (3) it's 2nd and short.
3. Throw more Bubble screens on 2nd down
4. Involve Langham a bit more than versus Pitt
5. Move Rosier's pocket frequently.
6. Bring in a 6th OL to run from time to time.
7. Assuming no Herndon, go three and 4 wide and keep Homer in the backfield to pass block.
8. Target Berrios and Richards a bunch assuming no Herndon.
9. Get the ball to Thomas in space, the old flanker screen we ran with Kevin Williams.

Keep it vanilla. Give Rosier a few easy throws early to build back his confidence. Call a few QB draws early.

somehow i don't think Rosier lacks confidence at all

Double reverse punt and kickoff returns. Every time.
Alternate between the wishbone and 5 WR sets.
Fake FGs on 3rd down.

Whatever Syracuse did. That's what I would try and copy, or at least elements of what they did. Im not totally confident that Richt can gameplan something other than RPO STUFF. He doesnt ever seem to have a solid plan B. We will see. Hope he comes up with something good.

I don’t think he does either but for us to win he’s gotta hit those throws. The bubbles to Braxton, Harris, whoever else are there but Friday he threw every one high or upfield. These are the throws that should be easy completions giving him confidence to throw downfield a few plays later I think everyone here thought based on seeing his entire body of work there would be 1-2 full bad Malik games and we clearly got that against Pitt. Let’s hope that was the outlier of the season. He’s had a lions share to do with the resurgence of the program. I hope he brings the same game he brought against ND Saturday and cements himself in the UM legend lure.

Tell rosier to keep more of those iptions I feel he opens up the running game

Complete the easy passes...

For the love of god don’t be predictable with boring running calls on 2nd down

Clemson is going to force Rosier to beat us with his arm. I would not run Homer on first down because we've done it **** near every game on the road and gotten nothing from it because everybody expects it. I would make a whole lot of use of our NFL bound TE and our senior slot receiver and try to get Rosier into a rhythm as he is a streaky passer. I would use the pass to open up the run. After hitting on short to mid range passes, I'd try to hit a few over the top to our speedsters.
Yes!!! Exactly!!! That’s what I’m talking about fam!!!

Ok I can definitely dig what you’re saying fam! We need to Hurt Keller Bryant and get that samamb@tch out the game.

We will have to run some as KC against 99 is not gonna be pretty. I expect the kitchen sink with DJ running passing and throwing. Up tempo for sure early at least. Without 23 its gonna be tough and we won't have time for many long throws guys. Their DL is too fast. 99 is going to go around KC like he isn't there. Pray for Herndon and 4 and 9 and for me freezing my *** off

It would be just like Malik to show up and ball for 60 minutes. He seems to play his best when everything seems lost.

Richt will call plays that can work. Malik just needs to get the ball there.

I think we get that ACC title.

I do too but without the orange and green glasses on

our OL will have to play above their heads (KC against 99)
23,4,82,4 must be healthy
CMR must run a completely different offense - motion,counters,roll outs,more screens,more slants,up tempo,DJ throws the ball
We must stop their 2 excellent RB's. Their line works as a unit the best I've seen in a while

Gonna be tough don't get too invested

This is where you pull from a large sample size of plays through out the year that have worked and install them in your game plan. Qb draws, 5 wide utilizing Homer's receiving skills, wildcat with DeeJay, jet sweep counters, and the whole kitchen sink. Leave it all out on the field and if you lose at least die with your magazine emptied.

Run the football. Period.

Syracuse - 50 rushes for 132 yards. Won TOP by 9m. Won the game.

That’s not the hard part to figure out (run the ball). The big issue with richt and this team is knowing when and how to run. Predictable read zone plays on 2nd and 10 are not going to net you much. Need to mix it up with a variation of running plays

Miami is 113th nationally in attempts (thats bad). I'd be happy with just running more, I'll worry about when and how if he just starts running more first.

I don’t want him to run more just for the sake of running, though. Since our OL isn’t great, you have to do it selectively and smartly. I do agree in that richt does abandon the run altogether too easily but if we were more dynamic and variable in the run game, we wouldn’t have that issue

Up tempo - throw it and throw it deep early - we aren’t going to suddenly develop a running game on what is basically a road game for us unless they are nervous about a big score - Don’t roll the pocket and play like you are a 10 Point underdog - we will win if we are within 7 going into the 4th - Daboo will choke when he is favored

Syracuse beat Clemson playing uptempo and Rosier plays his best uptempo, so I can't imagine we won't play uptempo on Saturday night. Would love to see more DJ in the Wildcat, especially around the goal line and in short yardage situations.

Hit them with 4 and 5 wide. The O Line needs to play out of its mind and Rosier needs to complete 60% of his passes as well as carry the ball 15 - 20 times for 50 yards.

Some solid blocking and QB play would be nice. You know, the things we didn’t see last week at Pitt.

If we can’t block and Rosier can’t hit open receivers , no game plan will matter
