@Poopscoop it is my understanding you are a former Hurricane and pro player... good on you... tremendous accomplishment...

Questions:

1) What is a name (or tree) of OL coaches in the style of what Miami should have on staff?

2) What type of OL recruit should Miami target?


obviously our Canes are facing a 5yr-ish rebuild project with next AD/HC

why is it we look so much worse than other teams? What are/aren’t we doing? As a fan, I watch many other teams play, they don’t look as garbage as us tackling wise. It’s baffling because it’s our senior players… 4th, 5th, 6th year players!

Even you did purchase a season ticket, a empty stadium shows that you are willing to stay away if things don't change... and that you can do without the sub standard product on the field even next season...

Otherwise all these threats of not buying season tickets are not taken seriously.

They know that the usual Manny special, pre season hype and shenanigans are all that the sheep will nned to march right up to the ticket office to buy their tickets.

The other thing is the $$ from in stadium vendor sales..

That’s fair. I don’t think you have to worry about attendance, any more. It’s going to get ugly. At the stadium, I noticed a lot of anger and frustration, yesterday. Particularly, from casual fans, who are usually more optimistic. I think that’s over.

That wasn’t my point. The previous poster wanted fans not to attend the games so the University was his financially. It will be hit but not as much since the majority of the tickets are already purchased.

Season ticket holders are disgusted as well. They were in my section. My son said he is out and he is a senior. He said it is an absolute waste of time and most of his buddies feel the same way. Like fucque I'm flying down from VA again to watch this garbage. No way I do seasons next year. He graduates. Not like I cannot get tickets in club for any game via Stubhub. I'm not sure donating my seats even in club to military will get any takers.

He’s coaching in Mannys zone scheme, why would you bring in a man cb coach that teaches technique that doesn’t match what the dc runs? He likes physical man coverage.

Do you think he’s a miracle worker? Fact is manny is going to die doing what he does. T Rob was obviously brought here for recruiting , that’s all.

I wish it took inside info to tell us they sucked. That would mean it wasn't obvious!

Not disagreeing with you pointing out he was right, but a lot of folks here (yourself included) called out the obvious flaws.

Every time we have a failing staff, those who circle the wagons try to use the logic that fans can't criticize because they're not experts, or something like that. And it's crazy. You don't have to be a gastroenterologist to recognize isht when you see it.

Optimism is fine. When it's based on unproven things and repackaged as insider-based info, it tends to be unfounded, at least around this program.

Stick to the Missouri motto, is my advice. If people are telling you things you cannot yourself observe, take it with a shaker of salt.

I have been hammering the importance of a strategic assessment as a starting point for a search, so agree with all this, with one exception. I disagree with turning over the strategic assessment to a headhunter. They're brokers, basically. Great at interviewing people and compiling notes. Poor in my experience at depth or analysis (and they tend to outsource the analysis often enough). UM has to own the strategic assessment. If it doesn't have the people or capabilities to do it right, it should probably hire a legit strategy person to lead the exercise. It's not that complicated. An ex StratCom person at DOD or retired McKinsey partner could do this in under 90 days, even allowing for some primary research. And the person who does it doesn't even have to be publicly identified. It's a project for the BOT (sorry, don't involve AD or Potus here) in effect, not a public engagement. Headhunters are publicly identified to facilitate people reaching out to them.
