You guys wanna know why Perry didn’t start last year?

The following would not surprise me in the slightest:

2018 - Rosier

2019 - Williams

Ive never understood the massive hype surrounding N'Kosi Perry. From what little I saw of him on film, he always reminded me of a taller Robert Marve.

Rosier starting again in 2018????

I can't even entertain that as a possibility right now.

That's why Im been shy about posting this. I know its a tough pill for most to swallow right now. That said, I don't want the Perry hype train to get too far from the station without getting a weather check on the tracks ahead. lol

Rosier starting in 18 would be a disaster on so many levels.

Rosier wasn't much farther along. The reads given to him were like a FR. Having a limited QB is like driving a car where the staring only turns half way.

Not sure what the precedent is of a starting QB who helped guide his team to 10 wins loses his job the next year. Hey, I'll be happy if we get an accurate qb who can get us over the top. But I think everyone needs to pump the brakes thinking Richt will replace an incumbent starter. My personal opinion is Malik keeps the job, but is on a VERY short leash.

nope, perry would have to be dog **** to lose out to "can't throw 5 yards over the middle malik"

I think the qb competition is to appease fans, i really don't think it's real...but time will tell...gonna be a LONG off season.

Post less.

Williams enrolling early, with a good head on his shoulders, levels the playing field. IF Perry doesn't win the job, I believe Williams will be ready.

The three guys behind Rosier would have to totally crash and burn the next nine months to have him starting against LSU come September.

It would be an all time upset if Perry, Weldon or Williams didn't take that job from him.

I can't judge Perry or Williams before they take a college level snap. Rosier starting next season is a very real possibility that I dread. Best case scenario is Williams elevates the position above the level Perry and Rosier can take it with multiple years under Richt. It's not realistic in my mind, though. More realistic is Rosier or Perry getting #1 spot and Williams RSing.

From ITU

“It’s hard to pick out one thing I learned the most, but I definitely learned more than I ever known about football this year,” Perry said. “Before I got here I really didn’t know how to read defenses and coach Mark Richt and coach Jon Richt did a great job at teaching me that, but I also learned a lot of new skills about ball security and working on fundamentals.”

In particular, Perry said, “The main thing that they did was they taught me how to watch film. I didn’t know how to watch film before I got here. They taught me what I should look at and it’s really about repetition. You really got to be in the film room. It’s not really about game day. It’s more about preparation.”

He didnt know how to read defenses or watch film properly....imagine throwing that kid out there? He probably would’ve been picked apart like Blackman. He’s also 187 now and plans to add another 10 before the season.

The only question is why people whouht he would start. These things were known and obvious before the season.

I don't think he'll start even if he's a little better than Perry and Williams. I think Richt has zero confidence in Rosier.

Listen to me & listen to me carefully. Absolutely 0% chance that Malik Roiser starts another football game at Miami unless there's catastrophic injuries. 0%.

We should be happy Perry ‘gets it’. He understands what he needs to work on. He’s becoming a student of the game. He’s adding solid weight. He knows he has a lot more work to do.

Instead some of us are acting like college students triggered by micro aggressions.

Richt will go under center if he has to before he hands Rosier the reins ever again.

Has anyone ever heard a coach declare an open competition before a season ended. That tells you all you need to know.

Rosier did have an issue with progressions but lots of college QBs do. Most of these watered down spread/air raid offenses are one read throws anyway. Rosier's main problems are physical. He has a very slow delivery and is terribly inaccurate. All the coaching and film study in the world aren't going to make him a better thrower. He's got a very low ceiling because of his limitations physically.

Perry was nowhere near ready to start at the beginning of the season and Rosier had done a good enough job through ten games of keeping the team in games. You don't burn a redshirt eleven or twelve games into a season unless it's a dire emergency and even then who knows if Perry had advanced far enough to be an impact maker (which we clearly needed against Clemson and Wisconsin).

Maybe if Miami had the top run blocking offensive line in the conference and two NFL stars in the backfield, they could have spoon fed N'Kosi the offense like Georgia did with Fromm. But they don't have any of those things, so throwing an ill prepared freshman to the wolves would have been catastophic. Whether people want to believe it or not, we had to rely on Malik to win games this year. Against most of the mediocre teams they faced, he was just good enough to pull out victories. When he wasn't good enough, they lost. The line and backs are not good enough to just line up and run it at teams that load the box. That's just the fact of the matter.
