First, this is not a homer post. Let's get that out of the way. I have no idea if Manny will be successful here. During the offseason I put that percentage around 60%. Now it's probably around 40%. Here is my point of this post:

I have seen dozens of comments complaining about the offensive play calling. Specifically the lack of big plays, or plays to stretch the field. However, here are the things we have clamored about for years:
Winning time of possession with an offense that churns out first downs
Slant passes - for the love of God throw a slant!
Third down percentage above 50% or close to it
Jet sweeps

Those are 4 items off the top of my head that we have screamed for years. Well how does Enos stack up so far?
Time of possession - Dominated it in both games
Slants - Yes
3rd down percentage - Not good enough
Jet sweeps - Yes

So that is 3 out 4 that he has accomplished with a freshman QB and a newly installed offense. I expect 3rd down percentage to go up as the year goes on.
Has he called great games? No, especially Florida game and the first quarter against UNC. But my goodness, you can already see this offense is lights years better then last year.

So what have we not seen? Go routes, post patterns. Well we had that for several years with Richt. Yes we connected on a few a game, but please let me remind you how many 3 and out's we had last year. It was pathetically high percentage to say the least. We could not sustain drives and we were so lopsided on time of possession that we hurt our defense every game.

What Enos has brought is a balanced offense that keeps the chains moving. We begged for this for years. He needs to get better in the red zone, no doubt. We left points on the field, no doubt. This will improve. Think of it this way, if we had this offense last year we easily win 10 games. Enos is not the reason we lost last night. Whatever is going on with our Defense, it needs to be fixed. But please stop with the Enos bashing. This guy knows how to run an offense and we can right this ship if we somehow get a kicker that isn't scared to kick, and if we get this defense fixed.

This board is the biggest group of over reacters around. It sucks to be 0-2 but if you can't see improvement I'm not sure what to say.

Blake Baker's wife had a baby last week......maybe he wasn't focused or had others overseeing the defense. Something was off and it showed. I hope we are recruiting a kicker and have him signed in Dec.
I'm thinking we will be looking to add a grad transfer K. Baxa looked scared and that was disconcerting. He cost us the game with the easy miss.

0-2.

Yep. Missed Xtra point led to needing to go for 2. Missed 2 point conversion led to needing a field goal to tie it. Missed field goal to tie....all epic fails leading to a gaping loss. Get the try outs starting now.

Just getting a kicker and being 2-0 or 0-2 doesn’t mean we are playing any better football.our record doesn’t let us hide the stink

To be honest i think most of the complaints have been about the defense not the offense

I'm sure that was on his mind and probably a lack of sleep as well.

The defense started poorly, but bounced back for two quarters.

One big problem this defense has is depth, in particular at the tackle position. They are just space eaters at this point.

LB, besides on a blitz, very ordinary and they vanish a lot. There's generally only two of them as this striker role has made it so.

Corners are very weak outside of Bandy. He had a bad game and the play he was roasted, that happens to every corner from time to time. That was a critical play and if he had safety help over tge top, we probably win the game.

That all hurts is right now. **** the kicker, he was just awful.

Bubba seems like a nice kid, somewhat antsy and a little high strung looking on the side lines. Maybe someone needs to take him out drinking and get him laid so he relaxes. Case of beer and a couple of whores would probably straighten out his kicking and a few other things. Just Sayin’🙌🏿
