You all see this during the game?

After a play, players have to give the ball to an official immediately or put it down near where it became dead. They are prohibited from:​

(a) Kicking, throwing, spinning or carrying (including off of the field) the ball any distance that requires an official to retrieve it.
(b) Spiking the ball to the ground [Exception: A forward pass to conserve time.]
(c) Throwing the ball high into the air.
(d) Any other unsportsmanlike act or actions that delay the game.

As other posters noted, Mario may have also been mad (or maddest) that the defense was over-celebrating on the side, on the benches…the only thing missing was the now-obsolete Turnover Chain.

A good teaching moment. You‘re up 7-3 early in a game. You made a play you’re coached to make.

I was a little surprised a call wasn’t made on the pick-6 celebration.

Commentators are idiots. They don't know what's going on half the time. A kid could be in the ground with his femur sticking out and half the time they wouldn't notice. Any time in any college game a guy spikes the ball he's gonna get flagged, and it's been this way since.. oh 1988? Do you guys like.. Watch football?

Here’s the thing. Most unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are subjective. If a referee feels that the player was taunting the opponent, he throws a flag. Apparently any kind of spike is a penalty but the referees could have easily flagged Frierson and teammates for dancing in the end zone following his pick 6. Thankfully they used common sense

They usually let you celebrate with your team and if it doesn't delay the game. They throw a flag if you're doing it to draw attention to yourself (taking helmet off).

If they run to the sidelines they can do anything there without a flag.

I wish people would quit bring up that turnover chain **** what's ridicoulous to me is that even Oregon guys were wearing some fake *** chain over there and every team has some other ****.
