Yearby... 200 pounds

i aint saying anyone is better until i actually see them play, to say he's better before the season even starts is retarded

I can't wait to bump this thread during the season

What's your opinion, counselor?
I think Yearby's a nice back.

I also think that stating he will be better than Duke Johnson is outrageous at best.

Agreed. That is absolutely outrageous.

IDK why people insist on talking about who was better or who is going to be better than the other. Seems like an oversimplified conversation.

People are really sleeping on Yearby

He came off devastating leg injury 9 months before season. Had really no offseason entering his freshman season yet he played and did well.

The kid in the picture is a much different body then in high school. If he still has his elusiveness at that size watch out.

Plus this kid comes across as really tough and hungry. He does not seem entitled at all. We all get caught up in home run speed which very few backs have in fact the only one I have seen recent memory is Cook. Give me the back that can make people miss move the chains and not fumble.

Gore Portis Edge McGahee rarely went 80 for a TD against good teams.

Buying stock on Yearby.

Plus he is tight with Coley

the "me" guys lmao

Guys I think golden is a joke and he is the ultimate Me Guy can't wait for him to be fired or leave after this season

With that said I just find Yearby to be tough as opposed to most other backs dude obviously put in the work. Just my perception right or wrong

I am a big fan of Yearby and really like Duke I just don't think he was all that big in the big games outside of destroying Va Tech last year

Duke is a wonderful kid that loves his mother and is providing for his family great young role model but is not without fault he is still a kid. Was not a big fan of him yapping after EVERY run and his pouting on the sideline at times.

With that said I would let my daughter date him which is the ultimate litmus test.

Plus the kid does not get in any trouble off the field.

I think we will be fine at RB with Yearby Walton and Edwards

Yearby was always an excellent pass blocker? Not so far at the U.

Hopefully the added bulk improves this. I thought that was one of his biggest weaknesses last year. We have to protect Kaaya at all costs this year.

Last year I would cringe when he was in - seeing a true freshman quarterback and true freshman running back in the same backfield. My confidence in their reads and being able to pick up blitzes was low. As sophomores, I am hoping for a big jump from them.

We should never be in less than 3WR formation. Even if we have 2TE on the field, they should be split out.

That draw play during the last drive of last year's FSU game, where Yearby just missed picking up a huge gain up the middle, is the type of play I think you'll see a lot of this year.

The thing is I hate how people are conceding to the notion that cook is just outright better than yearby. It must be noted that cook and yearby had the same yards per carry last year. Obviously cook had more carries because he was the featured back for Fsu while yearby played behind statistically the greatest UM back who had nearly 1600 yards in his own right. And for the people saying he is no where near Duke in talent you are sadly mistaken. This kid is right behind frank gore in most rushing yards in highschool in Miami. Yearby is not no average talent, he is an elite talent

Yearby doesn't have the top end speed. He hits the hole hard and has great vision and cuts but what Duke breaks wide open to the house, Yearby gets ran down.

I wasn't even trying to compare him to Duke but... Yearby can do everything Duke can do except he doesn't have that breakaway speed that Duke has. However he does have better vision and hits the hole faster

Duke lost 7 fumbles in 638 touches ( , , , NCAA College Football - CBSSports.com ) which is every 91+ touches. Not that bad. Show me a RB who doesn't fumble & I'll show you one who hasn't had enough touches yet. (See: Yearby)

Duke has been pretty good with the ball but some of his 7 fumbles have been costly. There's no denying that to be honest

Of course they have.. but when you ride a players back every game, he will fail you on occasion.

Without him these last 3 years, our record would have 5 more losses on it. (probably more)

If u read my post above and I said not fumble when I was referring to Cook and people start posting Duke fumble stats that is being overly sensitive

It's more assuming than it is being sensitive. (didn't read entire thread, my bad)

In my defense, Duke's fumbles have been discussed more than Golden's incompetence on here.
