What are everyone's Year 1 expectations for Damari Brown?

Wish he was here in spring, but he's on campus now and has a chance to compete right away. Physically, he's already our biggest corner (along with Jadais Richard) and should be advanced coming from American Heritage. His senior film showed a huge leap. Here he is against Jeremiah Smith and the others at Chaminade:

Keeping my expectations low but this right here seems reasonable.

That would be ideal, but he’s really far behind the other guys.

The problem is he’s making a mistake, looks like he absorbs the coaching, and then goes out and ***** it up again.

That’s not going to cut it in CFB. He’s going to learn that scholarships basically one-year agreements.

Would love to see it. He has the best overall athletic profile. So far, I've whiffed on Graves. I had bigly expectations.

If he gets more than 100 snaps this year I'll be surprised. Special teams and 4th corner is a safe expectation for Damari. Let him sit and develop. Play him in blowouts and prepare him to compete for a starting spot next year.

This is my thought. The transfers in will be the starters and log 80% of the time at CB.

Not sure about that but it seems to me that Stafford is a completely different type of CB than Damari.

Graves just finished his true freshman year. I'm pretty sure he was 17 years old when he enrolled at Miami.

I'm not surprised he isn't quite ready yet.

Youngsters with talent flash but then make mistakes. It what reps and maturity do that gets them to the next step.

He is a long athletic CB with speed, and ball skills. He just needs to work hard, focus, and then in a few years could hear his name called in the NFL draft.

He has the God Given talent and ability IMO.

I expect he will be overhyped during fall camp, then see less playing time than that camp hype would dictate, followed by a board overreaction attacking either Mario or Addae…

I polled 100 CIS members. The consensus: likely All-American and 1st round draft pick. Until he gets burned the first time. Once he does, JAG.

By the end of the season I believe he can break into the rotation top 4 CB seems about right. Special teams contributor , like ghandi said, the room he committed to back then is different now. More competition
