I've said it once and I'll say it again: Our fanbase is unbearable and honestly, we could do without most of said fanbase. Outside of the opposition trolls showing their face, we have a lot of fans that ACTIVELY hate the University and the program and are happiest when things go sideways. I'll never understand how anyone in their right mind could negatively recruit against their own program. I was beside myself last night after Mario botched that game, but I'm not going to tweet recruits and sabotage my Alma Mater. Then again, that's probably why, I actually have a connection to the school, and understand that the diplomas on my office wall aren't changing.

Never fails. Here comes the fan police. You’re not allowed to be angry at this. People are fans. Fan is short for fanatic. How can you be fanatic about something without investing in it? I’m not defending anyone who tweets at recruits. I never believed in that. Anger is an emotion and for folks to infer that fans aren’t supposed to be angry with the product after pouring everything in to it is ludicrous. Yeah, just another game I guess? Move on they say.

I was never behind going after Mario as our HC and have been suspicious of his abilities and remain so. I’m over the platitudes which he exhaustingly churns out. I can’t watch the Mario Cristobal show because there’s nothing enlightening about the current progress of the team. Just a bunch of coach Mumbo Jumbo. No doubt he is a proven recruiter but lasts nights debacle may have changed some things.

Last night was next level coaching bufoonery. We have earned another highlight reel to be played at least all of this week and now before every GT game in the future (See Doug Flutie).

As long as I can remember, our fan base has been emotional, it’s nothing new. Am I emotional? Yes, I am angry! I am angry with TVD, with Coach Dawson, with those dumb@ss ACC refs and with Mario most of all because 8 million/yr should have us ready to drub a GT team despite referee shenanigans.

I appreciate the positive outlook you have but I’ve seen this too many times and will remain skeptical. Yes, beating UNC is important but how much confidence can you have after last night? How about Clemson? FSU? Louisville?

Frankly, I want people with me who do not like to lose. People who don’t accept losing as just something that happens. It should always be unacceptable or you may just begin to see it as, you win some, you lose some. That attitude will not win any championships. I will continue to root for the Canes but I will continue to be suspicious of Mario’s HC abilities and reserve the right to be “emotional”.

What I saw was a team the clearly outplayed the other. Our guys played a tough game against a good pass D w/ ****** weather (again) and should’ve won the game.

Mario/Dawson but I can’t leave out Don/TVD/TC/Kam lost it on crucial blunders at the exact time. 99.9% chance those series of events don’t happen. It’s once in a football lifetime.

So the reality is our team was good enough to win. We haven’t fielded a team this good in a lonnnnnnnng time. Still good enough to beat anyone on the schedule.

This team isn’t going 7-5. I also never believed this team was going undefeated.

GT is probably better than you believed. A 4 game sample size never will tell the story of a team for a season. They can be 9-3 or 3-9 we don’t know. Our Canes can still go 11-1 or 4-8.

Some people (w a ******) like to predict the future and get emotional off of what they BELIEVE is going to happen and pretend it’s an absolute. Get your testosterone checked for real.

We beat UNC and everyone who is off the bandwagon this week will be leading the charge the next. If you know football you can see what’s going on. We’re pretty **** good.

If you didn’t see what everyone in the world saw, I’d suggest you take a long lunch tomorrow and visit a local elementary school. Sit down and take in a lesson about learning to tell time. Bring a notebook. Swing by the facility and pick up Mario on your way.

initially measured and stated exactly what you said about the goals for this team this year. We have the talent and ability to win every game left even with TVD as a liability. (He should be on a leash though).

Then I entered emotional state after rewatching the replay multiple times. It’s not even CLOSE. The Gatech defender doesn’t even make the grab at the football until Cheney’s elbow hits the ground!

I might have started catching a little bit of playoff fever myself but this game was our bust through when you play terrible but just are that much better game. Think our greatest team and the BC test we had at the end of the year.

Every major team except maybe GA even though I believe they had a couple slow starts has been in a game they could have lost. But they eked out a win or had a major 4th quarter.

There should be some sort of action the University can take. The affect on the season could be monumental. Not just on momentum, program progress, and recruiting BUT there is a tangible amount that can be calculated in $s if this pushes out of the playoff picture on the REAL with the most valid moment in CFB since the replay addition.

Are there multiple or any instances of memory where not only did an obvious incorrect call lose a game outright but have CFB implications?

Novelle Dabo and Brown will take Mario to the wood shed. Last night was inexcusable. The players some how found a way to take a lead that was gifted away. I’ve been on this “bandwagon” for over 50 years. it’s exhausting to go Through this year after year. Now we can’t trust the coaching. If they drug us up and down the field and dominated us like I’ve seen before with previous teams .. I’d agree with you. That’s not what happened last night.

I’m also just not that fearful of the teams you named. The overreaction last night was one for the ages. We lost last second. It’s worse to me getting blown out.

Agree on a lot of points here.

Just want to add, good football programs have one game where they play poor but still manage to win the game. We were ONE KNEE from exactly that, poor performance and a win but the HC ****** up.

This team is not SOFT. They WILL be on their A Game against UNC.
