Y’all talk about Cb play, safety play has been even worse

Pick one dude. Keep slurpin Hall or don’t. Can’t pick both....you were called out for those two comments you made about Hall and it bit you in the ***. Now you act all hard trying to cover up for your idiotic comments. I think you need to grow up, not me.
What is even your point? Hall made plays in the first few games and has been non existent since. How is that not an accurate statement? Be bothered by something else because this ain’t it

Paging Lu... I played corner .. I want to hear from our Safety spert. What the **** is going on out there? I mean it is beyond atrocious at this point. I think Hall is hurt. I can't explain why he has regressed but it should make him want to come back.
I’m not so sure he’s regressed. He’s never been a good player. He’s flashed at times but overall hasn’t lived anywhere near up to his recruiting accolades. Robert Knowles played in front on him. He’s the Pope on the defensive side of the ball. Albeit Pope’s arrow is up.

Alright bud. Keep slurpin on players who haven’t done **** this year and then when they finally make a tackle don’t forget to tell us all off. If someone doesn’t agree with you, you go off on them. Grow up little man.

I continually see our safties covering the other teams top receiving threats. If our dline ain't getting ya dont worry our lbs and cbs for sure won't.

Lining up on the wrong hash is different than not knowing your keys, not being a good tackler, consistently taking bad angles, and rarely ever being around to make a play on the football. The system is trash. But the safety position isn’t well coached within the system.

There are..... decades of football history where position groups were forced to play with in a certain system and the system sucked, but that particular position group was extremely well coached and still excelled.

We don’t do one thing exceptionally well at safety. That’s a bad sign.
Don’t disagree. Definitely not trying to absolve Banda of any blame. However in my book he gets a pass because his players have performed well historically and his real value is in recruiting

Where’s gurvan been all year? Bubba bolden play has been declining significantly the last 3 games and Carter is Carter, not good which is even crazy because he’s been the best safety in each of the last 2 games.

another good cb is emerging in tecory couch. Ivey has improved his play this year overall even with his couple of lack of focus plays. I will Say blades play has declined the last few games though

Hard to parse it out like that...

The whole defensive backfield plays as a unit...once you have some weak links the whole thing is broken.

I would also add that our terrible LB play is putting even more pressure on the backfield — causing them to worry about what’s happening at the line as well as their backfield.

You are terrible at this, find somebody else to argue with my guy

I originally asked you a question back on Saturday. I exposed your ***, you ignored me on purpose, and got all defensive today like a teen. Hall hasn’t done **** all year. You praise him for a couple good tackles? Then Saturday you are asking wtf has he done all year.

Bolden has been taking bad angles, gets juked easily, and struggles to wrap up recently. He started the year with such promise and now he’s struggling bad. I think it’s getting in his head too with the bonehead penalty
Every since he got bloodied— his play has been off...

wonder if that hit was worse than just a busted nose.

He recruited everyone but Bubba. All of the above is on him. Hall, Carter, and Bubba should be playing well. Bubba is regressing. And Miami has historically been able to recruit blue chip Safeties because we typically have developed great Safety talent. Banda is JAG.

We didnt have these safety issues with Redwine and Jaquan. So did Banda just all of a sudden forget how to coach angles, tackling and assignments?

Yes we did. Redwine missed a ton of tackles. What’s the difference between JJ and some of the other Safeties? Instincts. He didn’t have great physical tools - he just was a football player with instincts. That made up for a lot of fundamentally bad coaching. However you slice it, you can’t minimize that we have three starters with plenty of experience who aren’t doing the basic things consistently. It’s coaching.

Who's the position corch?

Two observations regarding Baker's "scheme", and I use that term loosely.

1. The more aggressive he gets at the line of scrimmage in terms of blitzing, the more conservative he gets on the back end. Almost every time we blitz we're in a cover 3 shell playing off coverage. A good team with a good passing attack will rip this to shreds.

2. For the life of me I don't understand why he doesn't mix in more man under 2 deep looks. We ran it on the final drive and you could see the difference. The one thing Blades and Ivey seem to do well is press man coverage. They suck with the ball in the air but they do a decent job of staying with their men.

#2 above is kinda the same gripe I have with Lashlee. It just feels this coaching staff doesn't do a good job of taking inventory of what WE DO have, and building a scheme around our strengths.

I'm going to keep saying this.....on offense we should be running a two tight end ACE offense ALL GAME LONG. I cannot understand how they can justify taking one or either of Brevin or Mallory off the field AT ANY MOMENT. Those two should be in the game TOGETHER all game long. Newsflash, it will also help the run game since they each block better than an additional receiver would.

On defense, we should be playing a **** of a lot more press man.

It's mind boggling this coaching staff can't recognize this. A big part of being a good coach is the ability to self evaluate.

this.

i was SCREAMING about this after the Louiville game. It's a freakin' no brainer, especially given the struggles of our wideouts.

The only person in the entire secondary that has been consistent and elevated his play is Couch.

@brock I think we can all agree that both Banda and Rumph need to be replaced by end of year (won't happen though).

Well, it's great he's bringing in all of these 4 stars. But none of them are being developed. Sort of defeats the purpose.

True! but, id rather have a strong recruiter and an ok teacher(banda) then, a non-recruiter and now an ok teacher(rumph) but would prefer a new cb coach.

I agree on the former. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a safety take that next level, so I'm skeptical on calling Banda an okay teacher.
