2027 Wyatt Smith 4* DE from STA Commits to OSU

Normally I agree with your posts, we almost always see things similarly, but I don’t know about the diversity thing. The Bosas are probably MAGA meatheads that aren’t too fond of some of us (outside of football), but Ohio State’s football program is easily as diverse as ours. Now the city of Columbus, the state of Ohio where I’m from, it really isn’t diverse or overly welcoming. So to that end, I agree with your statement. They probably feel more comfortable culturally than they would in Miami or Atlanta. I don’t care where someone is from, as long as they are family when they get to UM. My guy Rusty Medaris was from Ozark, MO, I believe and he was loved and beloved.
Not at all. Known the whole family since they were kids. They could blend into any environment. Cool dudes in general

Or maybe they wanted a legit shot at playing for a national title- Miami was a mess. Why don't we throw out the "afraid of diversity" tagline when black players choose Miami over OSU- or just about any other school? The board is full of Ryan Clark's.

i dont think some of you guys realize that Wyatt Smith's dad is badass 5x Pro Bowler Justin "the Cowboy" smith

his old man played for Mizzou and family is all there, sent him to fla for hs ball
if you dont know who Justin Smith is hes probably one of the meanest s.o.b's to play in the NFL known for crackin heads on and off the field....
but family is all midwest

Patrick Willis talkin about his Daddy being a psycho and mentions Wyatt, worth the listen lol

You’re probably right. I made this about something it really isn’t.
You and @MedleyCane have it right.

I’m probably also upset that we missed out on some really, really good players to that school up north.

Wasn't even a matter of playing for a national title it was a matter of playing for a school they were confident could develop them. And as I've tried to say for years when people didn't want to acknowledge the spot we were actually in. Because of the staff hires we made previously in the inability to develop what we did get the country it gave up on us from a recruit standpoint sure we might get one once in a blue but we had no benefit of the doubt left. Too many bad experiences and bad stories were out there and honestly it was understandable which is the saddest thing for me to have to say but seeing it from that side and ours I understand completely. That's why I've said from the first time Mario was supposed to be hired and the year before when I explained to y'all he was about to be hired thank God for that man because this is everything that it took to get us back only we had individuals around who understood just how bad it would have to get before we got back on the right path.

Fun fact- the Bosas are the great grandsons of Tony Accardo (known as "Joe Batters"), one of the most powerful figures in American organized crime history. Accardo started out working enforcement for Al Capone in the 1920s and went on to run the Chicago Outfit for several decades. Al Capone personally coined the nickname "Joe Batters" during Prohibition after Tony Accardo used a baseball bat to beat to death 3 mobsters who had skimmed money from the Chicago Outfit.

another fun fact- Tony Accardo's south florida mansion was robbed (not sure if the old man was still alive, in the early 80's if i recall correctly) and "mysteriously" the 3 Hispanic suspects in the case were found in various areas of south florida all with their throats slit.

White STA kids can't wait to throw on a trapper hat and scrape ice off their windshields somewhere in the midwest
Makes you wonder what the deal is.
This kid picked OSU over IU and Missouri. That equates to zero chance he wants to play college football at Miami.
Not everyone is a fan of diversity. Look at the Bosas.
I’d agree with this pre Mario. But Diversity doesn’t mean **** to this team. It’s whether or not you can play ball and be about that life.

Plus, there’s no better fishing spots.

I don't think diversity has anything to do with the decision of Smith (or the Bosa's for that matter). If a kid doesn't want diversity, I doubt they're going to play big-time college football or basketball.

They kid is going where he wants, very possible they have a close connection to someone at Taint.

sporting wise the bosas played at PPO. Pembroke Pines Optomist...which is typically gonna be teams predominantly black. But yea outside of that they may have been a lil different but they grew up with the real south florida...they werent really the parkland fully outwest types but the school demo at sta is filled with those types ouside of football team

Why are we bumping the thread of a kid that isn't coming here?

Oh yeah and **** the mob. A bunch of rats that applied pressure on civilians. Shaking down a 71 year old bakery owner don't make you tough. And they tried to take over black neighborhoods in NYC/Chicago and got their asses kicked and started snitching.

Because he is another 5 star level DE committed to Taint. And he is like 41 minutes from campus. And DJ is flighty as all get out. You will have to deal with bs from him and his brother every offseason. And Smith has a daddy who was an absolute psychopath monster. If we can flip 1 OSU DE, my vote, which means nothing, would be for this monster over DJ and his package deal.

It’s my fault for making this about race when it should not have been. But I am curious why so many high rated players from STA aren’t interested in UM. Does OSU and TAMU just have better connections at STA? Is there a coach pushing them away from UM?

I’m sure UM will get some, but UM is absolutely less popular with STA kids than the Miami public schools.

Didn't know that. He had his house in Illinois broken into in the late 70's. All of the dudes that broke in ended up dead too. Accardo was a true heavyweight. Gangsta as it gets

Wyatt Smith is as much a south Florida kid as the IMG kids are.

We would only ever had a chance to sign him if Kuligowski was still the DL coach. He was his dads coach at Missouri.

We know it ended badly for Kul At Missouri, I wonder if that played any part of Smith not going there.

No disrespect to this kid but he's a Buckeye, so **** him. Same goes for Jacobs unless/until he smartens up. Like I said earlier, the kid's a Midwesterner with ZERO interest in staying in SoFla. That's cool, he can get his *** kicked any and every time he faces us....
