2027 Wyatt Smith 3* DE from STA

What's strange to me is that we fake or interest "offer" alot of kids, including a lot of South Florida kids...

Like for instance on the DE, Finley has an "offer" it may indeed be commitable, but I don't think it's a lock at the moment… And apparently the Gables DT and Alexander the DT from PB County have "offers" but it's clear that they are in tier 2 (maybe they move up with strong springs or senior seasons). Tumarion Moreland, Bryce Williams, etc… Kids we offered that are likely plan B types. Maybe Jaden Carey is too, maybe I'm wrong there.

I can go thru other positions, but you guys have followed recruiting long enough to know it's true.

Smith doesn't even have one of those offers. JT either just isn't a fan or maybe there's more to the story

Yeah there are a lot of non-committables that are attached to players’ names; I find a lot of them are given when dudes are underclassmen then they just know they can’t cash in on them over time with so little communication. However there are dozens that are more recent that fit the bill too. It’s easier to do with oos players.

Idk, i think it’s a sign of respect. For example Zion Vilma not having an offer yet is a sign of respect because KB & Mario & Damione aren’t going to allow family of JV to have a pump-fake offer. I feel like they are showing that same respect to Wyatt and Justin Smith.

That’s why i believe Jaden Carey’s offer is valid given who his father is; his sister plays soccer at The U & Mario doesn’t seem like the type to string along his deceased teammate’s son.

That Coral Gables DT wasn’t offered at DT. Mirabal offered him, was recruiting him as an IOL and he never talked to Lewis iirc. Agreed that we’re not really after Alexander from PB Central. That’s one of our committ’s teammate oddly enough.

D$ says the staff likes Finley, we offered him when he was at STA over two years ago, he is invited to the april pool party and has us as his first OV at the end of May. All signs point to him being a take.

Scheduling an OV or not is the biggest tell. Was a bit harder to know before summer OVs became a thing.

In the case of Wyatt Smith, it should be noted that none of the Florida big 3 have offered him yet; he did recently pick up an OSU offer; we’ll see him if he visits there. Given that they are in the XII, I’ll point out that UCF hasn’t offered him either.

Fair. Could be.

Wait, Vernon Carey Sr is no longer with us?
Are we sure?

Kid will have a good career at Missouri. But we aren’t the only ones passing. The other 3 Florida teams in the power 4 have all not offered yet.

It appears to me, we basically chose to prioritize his former teammate Trevoris Finley and edge outta NC Xavier Perkins in addition to the orcas we’re chasing i.e. Jacobs, Bryant, Green, Forstall, Sweeney and Whitehead.

They may be related and I’m unaware, however, his father is Marcus Carey—not Vernon Carey Sr. Besides Jr, Vernon has twins, a girl and a boy; the boy is also named Jalen yet it is spelled Jaylen and he is the sixth man on Tennessee’s basketball team.

Miami, like it always does, like every other major P4 program, is going to put out anywhere from 250 to 330 offers a class. More than likely in the 300 range, probably over and 330 isn't a hard line.
What makes this class different is interest because of their run, but more than anything, money. Miami is putting more money in this class. The money is different after this playoff run. That's why you are hearing no developmental players in this class because they have the money to get the whales across the board. The question is, who do they consider whales? It could be a 3* or it could be the #1 ranked player in the class. If Miami has real interest in a kid, he has a offer, whether it's commit able is a different story. That interest could not come until late, senior football season. If they offer a kid that late, they want that kid in.

I remember pops well - beast for the niners. Biggest arms that I remember,.
Kevin Feagan was a perennial All Pro for SF 49ers 600 pound bench 700 lb plus squat Back then , 23” pythons .

I’m not sure but Kevin was a top draft choice for SF a legitimate creature relentless power rusher off the edge very vanilla rusher pure power .

Kevin’s equivalent or hair better then all DE at Miami, that good including Daniel Stubbs , same level.

The respect part is (from everything I’ve seen and heard) Mario literally tells people where they stand

You got an offer but we have others higher on the board

The transparency likely has a bit to do with the lack of decommitments we’ve seen since he’s been here

possibly related as both are bahamian descents.

Totally forgot about Feagan. What a beast that guy was.
