Pro Wrestling WWE MEGA THREAD

Steve Austin v. Kevin Owens potentially at Mania and Cody Rhodes in negotiations with WWE.

Momentum swinging back to the big leagues.
That would be crazy, also explains why Owens was cutting a heavy promo going heavy heel on Texas last night on Raw lol

Meltzer imitated it was a work and he’s close with Cody.

AEW is a notorious tight lipped operation. Now all of a sudden Keller, Alvarez, and others have a ridiculous number of intimate details...yeah ok.

None of it makes any sense. It reads like one of TKs storylines when he was eFedding as a teenager.

The whole thing is weird. But the Cody-verse feels so disconnected from everything else in AEW that it wouldn't surprise me if Tony didn't feel like he was as valuable to deserve the contract he wanted. On the Fed's end, it's a no brainer because he's a founding member of AEW, a name their viewers recognize, and is more positive news after keeping Owens and Zayn in house. Jericho has been floundering in AEW's mid-card since his MJF feud. Tony has always been against breaking up Inner Circle, now they are doing it in Jericho's final year of his contract.

A lot of this kind of worked shoot stuff is plot points of Cody's actual storyline in the company that is being presented to fans. It just seems preposterous that he'd leave on its face. With some minor rational thought, its even more outlandish to me, but we'll see.

For a storyline like to this to actually work in 2022 you need for it to be as real as possible. Like, real contracts running out, real negotiations with WWE, but the reality is, its just a work. Similar to what Brian Pillman was doing, but Cody-TK are in cahoots, unlike Pillman who was working everyone. If Cody is working TK, too, more power to him, but that seems way unlikely to me.

One of the tells was during the Bryan Alvarez interview, Alvarez said Cody will continue to run the Nightmare Factory...uhhhhh. ok.

That’s the fascinating question, who leaked?

Suspects:
- Paul Levesque: Demoted, has his NXT promotion destroyed and many of his allies released
- Stephanie McMahon: Demoted recently after her husband’s demotion. Her and Paul were originally set to take over the company. Originally her father’s favorite
- Shane McMahon: Prodigal son who at one time was going to take over the company. Left the company over ten years ago and returned in 2016; was sent home this year after disagreeing with booking plans
- Linda McMahon: Wife of Vince
- Nick Khan: Second in command, brought into WWE several years ago to increase company profitability to drive a potential sale. Would become CEO if Vince were to resign

This is terrific content. WWE TV is ******* terrible, but the behind the scenes nonsense is glorious.
What's crazy is Vince is still in charge of creative and day to day operations behind the scenes of TV, and is appearing on Smackdown tonight to pop a rating. Plus, no mention of Johnny Ace stepping away for his part in this.

Because it's a circus and they hope to okey doke everybody until Vince resumes his role after the investigation.

Would it be possible for Stephanie to fire Johnny while she’s in the interim role?

If I recall correctly, she and Hunter are not fans of his.
