Wrinkles out of the bye

Always? Dude is 29-4 as a starter. I’m not sure he always panics. Now he clearly can improve on reading defenses or he will never play on Sundays. The NFL forces QBs to hit the check down a ton. He did much better in the second half.

Had that last pass been complete to Lofton, he runs for 20 min and we are looking at a potential TD or easy FG. Instead the dl tipped it. That isn’t Beck chocking. He was driving the team for the win.

I’m not a fan of our run game. I want more jets and outside zones. Toney runs for 90 on that jet…well maybe 60-70 since “we don’t have speed”. Had we been able to run the ball more effectively, Beck isn’t left throwing on 4th and 4 as just one example.
29-4 doesn't change that he has consistently struggled against pressure. Going back to multiple games last season. I think "always" is probably not accurate, to be fair. I want him to do well, of course. I want him to actually be more decisive in pulling the ball. But, he's repeatedly shown us this version of his game. We should probably accept it and ideally plan around it. I don't think we helped him enough, fwiw.

Agree. Was really disappointing because it was obvious going into the bye week our offense had structural problems, and we needed to be creative to try to hide them. We were much more creative in the run game against FSU than we were against UL.

All the offensive penalties, turnovers, and poor field position (especially in the first half) didn't help matters. We had no rhythm on offense, and we didn't run many plays.

We had the ball with a chance to tie or win the game at the end, after turning the ball over 3 times (to that point), not being able to run the ball at all, and losing badly on special teams. I don't think all hope is lost. We need to make adjustments to scheme, personnel, and play-calling on offense that we should have already made though, otherwise we likely lose another couple of regular season games.

That stat is so misleading. ****’s act like the team around him and an elite defense didn’t play a role in those wins. Meanwhile, at Miami, he starts dancing salsa when he isn’t throwing the ball within 2 seconds because he’s hearing footsteps that are not there.

Beck looked like TVD last night and Dawson calls plays like Emory is back there. **** is trash and predictable.

Outside of the fake pitch to the RB play action pass and the jet sweep to Toney was there anything else added to the game plan?

We ran off tackle 1x (got called back on a hold on Fletcher) which actually was a decent play. No idea why it’s not a regular staple in the running attack.

Same shït over and over. Not surprised coming out of the bye but shows this is the high point for Dawson. Unless he has the #1 pick at QB and some very good weapons at WR and TE he’s not scheming any easy wins for the offense. All he’s doing is wasting an elite OL and a very good RB room.

There were wrinkles alright. Wrinkles like a crone's ******.

I do not care how good your OL is, if the defense knows what you’re going to do then it’s nearly impossible to win that battle. Louisville crashed the box and Miami continued to be stubborn and didn’t adjust. You can’t run between the tackles every play. That puts your offense in a major disadvantage! This offense is predictable, un creative, and frustrating. No excuse for this offense to be this bad when you’re this talented. Dawson is turning Beck into TVD and our run game a joke.
It's arrogance on the part of Mario, Dawson and the rest of the staff, Mirabal included. We all know what the first play or two is going to be.

They must start getting other WR involved in the game. It's too easy to take out Toney and Daniels. Every DC knows those are Beck's go-to guys.
IDC what the others look like in practice. Get them on the field and give them a try. Take Toney and Daniels off the field for a series and let Beck work with the other WRs.... Make Dawson earn his paycheck.
Cannot wait to hear what Dawson says on Monday. I thought Heatherman did the best he could to make adjustments. I don't like playing off their WR so much but that seems to be what we do.

And stop using Lyle like a battering ram. That's Fletcher and Brown. They wasted at least a series or two the past two games using him like this.

Bye weeks are statistically harmful to teams. There was a study out of 28 power conference coaches (4 years + at the helm) and 75% had worse records coming off of bye weeks than their records in conference play, including Urban Meyer at Taint and Saban at Bama. Basically statistically they suck to have on your schedule.

Don't take my word for it. Take one of his biggest fan's who played at UGA and knows ball.
