Wr group outlook 2019

based off last year, I would think hightower has the best chance to be the alpha of the group

hopefully Harley takes that jump in production that berrios took before his last year here, cuz Harley talks like an alpha but needs to stop playing like a beta
Slot competition needs to be between Harley and pope. Out of the two I think Pope could stress a defense more in that role and will/should ultimately win that tbh but the coaches certainly love playing Harley

Look, Miami signed arguably the best WR class in America last year. At worst, it was Top 5.

That's a position that translates as quickly from one level to the next as much as any other. So, after signing what could be at least discussed as being in the ballpark of the best WR class in the country in 2018, if you can't put together an above average unit in 2019, then you failed as coaches in your identification of talent, development, or both. Plain and simple.

If you can sign what they signed in 2018 and NOT be a **** good group the next year (while also factoring in the older kids and Payton), then you have no shot at winning anything significant.

I expect Brian Hightower to be a monster next season. That kid can play. Other than that, I have no idea what to expect from these kids.

Payton has a quiet, no nonsense approach I see translating into early playing time. Feels like we have a few prima donas on our roster right now who are going to get bypassed.

Harley reminds me of Sam Shields and should probably give defense a try. He's not a good WR.

Whos the explosive guy and im not talking about 40's for the rookies that dont know the difference

That's a good list of names on paper but very inexperienced. My guess is Hightower becomes the go to guy. He's carried himself like a true professional and has made some big time plays. Dugans likes to rotate guys so I see all of them getting significant burn. I wouldn't mind adding a body or two to the WR room.

Not sure why Cager is listed as a receiver. You should actually be able to catch passes to be labeled a wide receiver.

These ******* coaches love crowning guys that do what they ask in practice, but production be damned.

Who we starting this week? “ I like Wiggins, he looks at me in the eyes when I give him direction and he honors my quidance”

I mean... are you gonna start the guys who play like $#!+ in practice?

Our WRs can't catch but we only use 8 bowl practices! Hahaha Can't make this **** up.

Wiggins stinks. Dropped more than caught.

Jordan #1
Hightower #2
Payton #3
Cager #4
Dallas #5

2018

6’2 receivers and above
Brian hightower 6’3
Marquez Ezzard 6’2
Dee wiggins 6’3
Evidence Njoku 6’6
Lawrence cager* 6’5

6’0- 6’1 receiver
Jeremiah payton 6’1
Mark Pope 6’0

5’10 receiver and under
Mike Harley 5’10

We certainly have taken some losses with the subtraction of Richards and Jeff Thomas from the group and missing on haselwood but there is still more than enough talent to be a really productive group imo. I’m fully expecting Jarren Williams to take over the qb spot in the spring and it will have our passing game looking a lot better than it did in 2018 which was pathetic. I mean 8 out of 12 games under 175 yards passing, only games over 200 yards were 4 of the first 6 games, 1 game over 225 yards for an entire season.....(1st game of the season vs LSU). Yes it was THAT bad

Who do you all see being our #1 go to receiver next year?
We have no one whose caught 20 passes in a year. Our fans get so hyped for names we know. Everyone else would see this as what it is, a big problem with no one that's done a thing.

You guys know this staff goes off who can block and then who can catch. That’s why Wiggins won Best WR. So tired of that BS. Smh. Our WR room should be able to find 3 guys who can catch the **** ball and tell the rest to get in line.

This shouldn't matter as much since we can't run the ball effectively anyway....I look for Pope and Hightower to step up asap...
I agree 1000% but based on this coaching staff they worry more about blocking than catching the fu king rock
