Wow

So what boutta land 2-3 top 10 recruits and 6 top 50 recruits this class?

Jackson Cantwell - 1
Tristan Keys - 5
Lamar Brown - 7
Anthony Jones - 19
Calvin Russell - 33
Bryce Perry-Wright - 34
Derrek Cooper - 35
Chauncey Kennon - 46
James Johnson - 47

I mean I don't think its crazy to say we LIKELY land at least 5 of these guys. And possible we land like 7?
Very reasonable chance at 7 of them guys

That's what I get for trying to juggle conversations and texts and posts. A ridiculous brain lapse. Fixed it in the edit, sorry for the confusion.

was kinda obvious, but just had to prevent panic lol

Very similar to Phillip Dorsett in build and speed. Not sure why we'd ignore him.

Dorsett: 5-10/170, 10.39(100), 21.26(200)
Bennett: 5-11/170, 10.40(100), 21.06(200)

Not sure why people do this. "But he's the same height-weight as INSERT NAME HERE".

Last year, Bennett caught 3 more passes for 30 more yards and 2 more TDs than he did the year before.

Dorsett was more productive in his junior year than Bennett was as a junior. Now, if Bennet has a senior year like Dorsett had, maybe we can talk. And Dorsett did it with another star WR on his team. In Dorsett's senior year, on basically 5 more catches, he raised his yardage and TDs by 33%. Impressive.

I don't care about height-weight as much as I care about production.

I suppose if keys says yes, no room for Russell. Only so much NIL to go around especially at the same position.
Russell is the classic south florida WR who shows mild interest in Miami but it's obvious he's looking for any reason to leave south florida. No different than Calvin Ridley, Jeudy and Inniss before him.

I never said any of that. I'm not sure how some of these ideas get invented, but I have a different set of concerns in this recruitment. And that's nothing personal, it's just a fact, not many posters know the whole deal, and it's too delicate to lay out all the details in public.

I hope it works out and Russell picks Miami. But there are some factors working against us right now.
So is this more of a situation that it’s best if he leaves South Florida?

The Russell thing can be fixed. Hopefully, this weekend.
Evan Stewart at Oregon has a torn patellar. May be out all season, so he potentially might have 2 seasons left there with Moore. That's a tough sell for me.

SFLA parents/kids need to be studied. Usually moms want their kids as close to them as possible and I feel like we get kids every year whose parents want them to leave. I mean I know every circumstance is different, but I feel like it happens down there a lot.

I wouldn't call that lack of production lol…And 5'11 isn't small.

He was on a team with what? 4 other D1 WR? There's only so many balls to go around.

There's big plays and TDs against Chaminade on that tape.

FOUR OTHER D1 WRs?

Name anyone besides Malachi Toney (who played QB quite a bit).

What a load. Yes, Brandon Bennett was prevented from producing by QB Malachi Toney..."Only so many balls to go around"...

I liked this kid, he has wheels and isn’t a smurf. He is already bigger than Jacolby George. I think (and desperately hope) that our WR class will be fine without him, both can be true. I’m not going to be a homer, he has talent and some high upside IMO.

It was in a direct response to someone who said hes "too small". So yes, I compared his height and weight to someone with a similar build and speed

Actually, @Imukat said three things:

---small
---lack of big time production
---one trick pony

So the height/weight stuff only addressed one point.

It's not a personal criticism, but you've seen it happen on this board with regularity, even if unintentional, the "side-by-side comparison".

It's no big deal. I've been told, and I've shared, that we are all about height and speed at WR this year. Therefore, the other two factors must be considered as well (lack-of-big-time-production and one-trick-pony).
