Wow!!

Starting a capable QB and sticking with him will be worth at least a couple games compared to the merry-go-round approach we put up with this year. Next year will be better IMO based off that alone.

And you don't think we will have a merry go round next year with Perry and Williams? Believe me, it's coming. It's what Richt does.

This has been our program for almost 20 years. Where have you been?

Seriously. The irrelevancy started in 2004 when Coker's squad when 9-3—low-lighted by that 31-28 loss at North Carolina when Miami was ranked No. 3 in the nation. Backsliding since then.

Canes are 60-47 from Coker's final season until Al's firing in 2015. 0-of-14 for a Coastal Division title until 2017 and last year was Miami's first double-digit win season since 2003.

FOUR different head coaches over a ten-year span (2006-2015)—Coker, Shannon, Golden and Richt. You aren't going to get any traction or grow when you're dumping dead-weight head coaches every couple of years.

Toss in that whole Nevin Shapiro s**t-show that hung over this program from 2011 through 2013; talk of death penalty, lack of institutional control and a way-too-long investigation that killed recruiting during that era, and anyone is really *shocked* that Miami isn't back three years into the Richt era?

Buckle the f in as it's going to take a hot minute to get things back on track. Took Dabo seven years to build a true contender in Clemson. Year five, he still got smashed 51-14 by fifth-ranked Florida State when his Tigers were number three in the nation.

If Richt didn't learn from this year and employs that approach next year he must be fired. But I think he doesn't do that because when Perry was playing like crap against Pitt he wasn't yanked for Rosier even on Senior Day. Maybe he finally learned.

I just do not want to consider the alternative.

Poor AD hires by BOT. Which has led to poor head coach hires by the AD.
Its not so much the HC hires, but the AD & BoT's outright refusal to correct any kind of staff issues. It is their policy to let HC's have enough rope to hang themselves, and thereby the program. Any competent administration wouldve forced changes on the HC.

Yes, our ADs hands off policy has killed us.

Our program is in a death spiral. Blake doesn’t know how to fix it. The solution is evident to anyone with half a clue. Our athletic department is pitiful. The only way to force change is to make Richt feel uncomfortable. Former players have to start speaking out more. Boosters gave to withhold their donations. CHANGES MUST BE FORCED ON MARK!!

is the evident solution to bail on another head coach? this time prematurely?
let me ask you...do you think it better for the program to give Coach a few more years at least to right the ship? Or to jettison him and start over yet again?
the answer to that questions truly is "evident to anyone with half a clue".

I guess I'm just banking on Perry improving or Richt having the balls to let Jarren start.

Bruh, Jarren's completion percentage in HS was lower than Perry and about the same as Rosier. I have a bad feeling Williams is a Rosier clone. The most accurate QB on the roster (at least per HS numbers) is Weldon. He also is the fastest QB. Kid should be tearing it up, but Rick hates potheads, so the kid has no chance of ever starting.

Who doesn't hate potheads?

Side note: I'm shocked at how elusive Perry is in the open field he has great running instincts.

Williams is nothing like Rosier. I don't put much stock into high school stats or high school win/loss records (I know Jarren's team wasn't great). I've seen him throw and he has the zip and touch of a true passer. Rosier always looked like a baseball player playing football. Which is what he was.

Hiring a competent OC/QB coach that can run his offense without any meddling from Richt is one solution. Firing Richt for underperforming over the span of three years( he has three 4 game losing streaks under his belt) is another solution but not necessarily the one I’m pushing for right now. “Starting over” doesn’t mean jack **** when UF “started over” and is
playing in a New Years 6 bowl in Mullen’s first year at the helm. You know...the same Mullen that interviewed for the UM job twice. Richt is a washed up cadaver when it comes to the college game today. Even with a competent OC, I still have some doubt that Richt could function as a CEO.

Well, I hope you are right. I doubt it as the stats are what they are, but maybe Williams learned to be accurate in the couple months between high school and college.

Jettison and start over. Richt is way past his prime, and his prime wasn't anything to write home about.

To the other poster, Richt is not Dabo. It's a dumb comparison.

Lots of drops vs Pitt which weren’t Perry’s fault

Good post man, and I agree. I asked on here not long ago, because I live in Texas and not Florida, whoever the AD is at Ufag must be a bad ****, they winning chips in EVERYFUKINGTHING, football, baseball, basketball, **** I think they won a natty for bass fishing recently. Not only that, but they have passed us academically, WTF is up with that ? We have always been able to say half their team couldn't even get into The U if they wanted, now we don't have that, which is crazy IMO, no way should they be ahead of us in academia.
