Always a possibility. But to be fair, to date, it has not played out this way. Look at the final 4 right now, all were top 5-10 portal classes last year.

Ill credit Tech for realizing what their DLINE did for them this year, and how it made them relevant. And in 4 days they went out and reloaded another high level DLine.

At some point we do need to sign some studs. People saying other schools are playing catch up…well why would we want them to catch up?

That and saying we have x and y to replace when they haven’t proven it…look how awesome the portal is when used properly (aka this year). They wouldn’t have gone to the portal if they liked the guys on the roster…It’s much more trustworthy than HS kids.

I trust the staff understands this and is working quietly to address these holes. Just have to balance it like the other quarterfinal and semifinal playoff teams.

100% aligned with everything you said. The portal guys are instant impact, with proved track record.

Lets hope we WIN Thursday 🌵 and come out swinging Friday morning in the portal, and we can still add some quality players.

Oregon, Indiana and Ole Miss have no issues announcing portal visits, commitments and etc. I wonder why we are holding everything so close to the vest?

No one has done what they are doing. They basically hitting sort, descend from top ranking and just spamming the highest NIL offer to each player. Can you build a cohesive unit that can win that way year in and year out is my question.

This isn’t ****ting on the portal. It’s how well does bringing in every top rated kid from other schools work. On paper it should work flawlessly. But games aren’t played on paper.

But we’re not though, lol. Plenty of visits have been announced publicly by both kids and these sites. So we are choosing who speaks up/what news gets out? Lol eh…

If this kid makes it to both TT and Oregon, I’ll be surprised if he visits us after that. Just based on how these things go with these big ticket guys 🤷🏾‍♂️.
