Would you take Richt over any coach in the top 10?

I haven't gone back to look, but it is hard to believe that Golden ever coached against a schedule as bad as this year's. We had among the best defenses in CFB, played exactly 1 team that finished in the top 25, and lost 5 games (so far). 2018 was WOAT coaching.

I think the only superior team Golden played against was KSU. Other than that he didn't play many top 15 teams. In addition, the Coastal got better when Golden was fired. 4 other coaches in the Coastal left (UNC, UVA, VT and Pitt all upgraded).

I absolutely WOULD take Richt over a few coaches IF he had a dedicated OC that was running a progressive offense.

****, I'd probably still take him over Kelly from ND. The rest of them? Nah.

Well its about their staff also. Like josh heupel is good but you really want randy? And LSU has a good staff with aranda but Ed alone is nothing special. So its not really black and white. I guess I'll go with the popular choice and say no.

Well, ****...that's what it is all about.

Tennessee goes after Freeze to counter other moves in the $EC...the arms race keeps escalating, and we continue the trend of playing farm system to real players in the college football by weeding out the up and coming garbage and sending the talent off for better paydays once they prove their worth.

Spending solid $$$$ on a head coach just isn't enough, especially when the one you have truly MUST surround himself with experience.

If getting Heupel means Randy comes? Sure. I got nothing against Randy. Diaz is going to find a HC job, and if Shannon replaced him we'd be set at DC. He wasn't a good HC, but that doesn't bother me. Great DC. He bleeds orange and green. One bad coach does not kill a program. Shannon wasn't getting paid 4 mil a year and using the job to employ unqualified family members.

Ive moved on from my dislike of Shannon and wouldn't be upset if he had a shot at redemption, just like a lot of us want to give Butch a chance at redemption.

Ah yes. The Loser's Lament. Woe is us, only big money teams can beat teams like Virginia.

No established coaches want this job? How about Mike Leach twice asking the President of the United States to help him get a job at Miami? Or Butch Davis, who would have been the HC for free? Is the coach who built the best team in CFB history and then took the Cleveland Browns to the NFL playoffs not an established coach?

It's embarrassing how so many fans make excuses to justify the lack of success. That loser mentality is why we get stuck with coach's like Mark Rick.

Mike Leach....Besides just salivating over the mythical concept of him, have you actually paid any attention to him as a coach.
- 2017 he was 6-0, ranked #8 then proceeded to lose 37-3 to a Cal team that finished with 5 wins.
- 2016 (his 5th at WSU) when he lost at home to FCS Eastern Washington.
- 2015 (his 4th at WSU) when he lost at home to FCS Portland State.

Looking at how ****ed you are at Richt for losing to UVA, Duke, etc......You are seriously pleading for a coach who loses to FCS teams?

I also find it funny when Butch Davis gets mentioned like this home run hire that we just refuse to look at. You salivate over something a man has done 15-20 years ago with some delusional fantasy that he can replicate it today. Answer this honestly and accurately, Why hasn't any major program sniffed him since 2010 if he is such an obvious choice? Why? He is the greatest thing since sliced bread according to you...so why is he at FIU and not some real job?

Neither one of these guys was/is some obviously better hire than Richt.
