Would you be ok with these changes?

I can't help but think this pressure is going to force Richt's hand to make some changes. Emotions aside, would you all be ok with bringing in a new OC, QB coach, o-line coach, and st coach?

Or is there no winning solution outside firing Richt (not happening)?

I would. But depends on who he hires. The OC can’t be Marty Schottenheimer or Mike Bobo.

I want someone innovative who is given the reigns. I would love to see us run a high tempo spread offense

Only true mouthbreathig morons would think that “south florida talent would make richt elite”.

it didnt for Coker, Shannon, or Golden. you have to actually recruit the talent and then you have to develop that talent and scheme to beat other talented teams.

This myth that UM makes mediocre coaches good is so beyond ridiculous.
Coker, Shannon, and Golden aren't even 'good' coaches. And if you think back 17 years, Florida talent single handedly won Miami's 5th NC. It sure wasn't good coaching.

That was merely my point. I guess we'll have to see what happens!

My hope, going forward, is that Perry will start next weekend and the offense look night and day different from a Rosier ran offense. If Richt hasn't listened to the noise, he will hear it then.

Unfortunately I don't think simply starting Perry will make a night and day difference. I hope he starts and I hope he looks better than Rosier, but it's going to be tough to make Richt look good.

You are right they arent good coaches. And thats why despite having florida talent, their teams were all failures. Just like Mark richt.

youve made the point clear: florida talent is useless without great coaching.

No. Florida talent is useless without good coaching. Mark Richt, after being forced into a CEO role, was a good coach. So then begs the question asked in the original post.

It's a good discussion.

I tend to agree. However, all we have left at this point is hope 😅🙄

Yes. That is the only things I want to happen .

No!!!!!

Richt must go. Can’t ssy it enough.

In fact why does anyone think this works? He can’t pick great coaches..look at the staff he choose.

He must go..period.

First, the school has to decide they're done with Richt, and I think we all know that they've got more patience than we do. Second, even if they wanted him gone, are they willing/able to pay to do it? It would probably cost a ton and what would be left over to pay the next guy? There's no way he's gone this year unless he wants to be. If the team shows any signs of life, he'll make it through next year as well.

Practicality is why were discussing changes that involve keeping Richt.

And let's remember that simply getting rid of a coach you don't like does not guarantee that you'll trade up. It's entirely possible that we'd end up with the same product on the field plus be millions poorer.

I'm not hopeful it can be done, but best case is that Richt get's his sht together and makes the changes he needs to, allowing us to get some value out of the money we foolishly promised him.

Practicality?? Call it what you want but NONE OF IT WILL WORK with Richt. You guys ignore history..he had an OC in UGA..how’d that turn out? He infests everything he touches. His network of coaches he can pull from is str8 TRASH. Ex players of his are at skill positions..an OL coach Nick Saban wouldn’t take to the NFL or Bama.

Who in their right mind is going to come here with this pressure & call plays for him? To save him when that guy could be the next HC at Miami? Miami is going to need 2million dollars for an OC of the caliber we need to deal with all this pressure.

I’m not into spraying cologne on dog **** bc it stinks no matter what.

If Richt can’t go then let him fail miserablely until the buyout is respectable.

Until then..I don’t want to see anything about hiring an OC. Richt must go...he’s absolute trash.

I just fcking said I didn't think it could work. That doesn't change the fact of where we are. He isn't getting fired this year. He's just not. You can yell all you want, but it's not happening. Not because I like the guy or want him to stay. Miami doesn't believe they have that kind of cash to buy him out and hire somebody else.

These are fcking facts, so let's stop acting like I think this sht will work. I'm just trying to make the best of the sht I've been handed.

We need a small school genius that is running spread concept and rolling up 500 yards a game

Anup and comer that can do his thing for 4-5 years and then either take over or move on

OP, serious questions.

1. What do you think are realistic goals from a competent HC?

2. Why do you think that Richt will suddenly be able to raise his ceiling or out perform his prior tenure at UGA?

3. How many P5 HCs, with such a large sample of coaching experience, able to out perform their prior tenures?

4. Can you name one other then Mack Brown?

First of all, I agree with your point. I don’t believe CMR is the answer but there have been others. Bobby Bowden, for one, didn’t win his first title until 18th season at FSU and this followed several years at West Va. Vince Dooley at UGA was another but it took getting Herschel Walker to put him over the top. So it can happen, but I don’t think likely here.

Last time we searched for a coach we were down to the following;

Mullen’s- just got whooped by UGa and no one knows if he is a good coach or not.
Schiano- sucks, sucks, sucks
Mark Richt- Safe, great recruiter, bad choices in personnel

So what will we get now?

Whittingham- no experience in the South Florida market
Lane Kiffin- like a stock, expect ups and downs, great recruiter, excellent play caller, but Miami may not have the stomach
Butch Davis- old legend, with out of date ideas, ( like Mark Richt)
Chris Petersen- ???

People, it’s tough to get a head coach for Miami, let’s get an OC with creativity that understands the talent in Miami.

I don’t give a **** what you said & I don’t want to read how Miami can’t do it bc it’s a lie. This school has raised a billion dollars...TWICE....you read that right...TWICE. Foh with they can’t afford it...they have the financial capacity to do whatever they want.

Richt must go...anything outside of that is an exercise in stupidity....period.

Miami football is dead with him at the helm. Keep thinking an OC is going to save a man who outright lies about our ****** punter.
