Would you be ok with these changes?

Firing Richt would be the right move but that’s not going to happen since they just gave him an extension and because of his contribution to the IPF. Since he’s not going anywhere, the next best option would be to bring in a real OC and let him run the offense. That’s probably not going to happen either given the fact that Richt took this job so that he could call plays and give his son a job. So basically we are ****ed.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We got a winner here!

We can debate position coaches, coordinators etc. all day. THE only thing that will change things is Richt himself. He chose to stay in coaching after UGA because we gave me the opportunity to call plays again. What he felt was "missing" from his time at Georgia...to be 'in the mix' again. So, unless he faces himself in the mirror (tough pill) and decides that he'll go back to the same situation he hated in Georgia where he is a CEO of a program and not in the trenches or he flat out quits --- nothing will change on its own. We'll probably see Folden fire D'No as DC before Richt fires himself and Mark has infinitely more clout/pull then Al did (who didn't do anything btw)

He just needs to retire..... he has made plenty from his UGa settlement and the U...

This is the inconvenient truth.

Only way I'd be ok with that is if the OC hire is a quality experienced OC from outside his coaching tree that has ABSOLUTELY NO AFFILIATION TO HIS GOD FORSAKEN OFFENSE. He also needs to relinquish ALL offensive play calling responsibilities and stay the **** out of the way.

In other words, if he's ok being a Bobby Bowden type figurehead....then I guess I'm ok with it for now.

Anything other than what I outlined above he can get the **** out of dodge and go rot in retirement for all I care.

Most HCs are stubborn control freaks... he isn't relinquishing anything.... his plan was to coach his son up to be promoted to OC in a year or two....
Coaching is such an incestuous business... it is all about favors and scratching each other's back..

The Perry stans, amateur psychologists and unabashed Searels+Jon Richt haters will try to tell you otherwise but to me all the issues begin and end with Richt's scheme. If Richt completely divorces himself from designing the offense and calling plays then this team should be able to realize its potential. All other issues are secondary and cannot be evaluated properly until we see a functional scheme. Even (most of) the special teams issues are a direct result of the offense because this team should hardly ever have to punt.

I would like to see a dedicated LB coach though. No position on the roster has been developed worse under Richt.

When dealing with an underperforming head coach, year three is always the replace your staff year in an attempt to deflect and scapegoat. Year 4 is when the head coach’s seat gets hot. I say two years tops for Richt but that stadium is going to get embarrassingly empty.

Then I want him fired or to retire. I'm at the point where there is no in between. Either he stays the **** out of the coordinators way or he's part of the problem.

NO!! I want Richt the fck out of here yesterday.

Then I want the fcking admin gone. I want an administration that spends unlimited money on staffing and recruits.

Until then they will get zero cents from me.

CMR is not going anywhere unless he chooses to. The University is not going to force him out. He is exactly the kind of administrator the university looks for. They will never have to police the football program because he will do that. And we shouldn't want him to leave - we just need him to recognize that his talents are better utilized as a manager and program front man - not play caller. I am wondering what the rest of the staff is saying to him and each other behind the scenes. We have no idea. They may also feel it's time for change .

I can't find the post but someone mentioned that somewhere along the way the fans lost sight of the fact we all thought we would be an 8-4 or 9-3 team at best this season given the losses of personnel through graduation and the draft. It's tough to expect freshmen or redshirt freshmen to play at the level those senior players did. We got excited about the skill level of Storm 18 class . And bottom line is the talent and depth in the trenches is sadly lacking right now - partially due to inexperience and physical readiness (the young guys) and partially due to lack of talent/athleticism with the others. The program is in season three of a major rebuild.
C'mon dude, we entered the season in the top 10!
