Would you be ok with these changes?

for next season I would force him to bring in a OC and give that OC the freedom to hire his own staff on offense if he refuses he can gtfo
Is that at all common in CFB?

Richt isn't going to selflessly offer to do this for the sake of the program and Blake sure as **** isn't going to tell his employee what to do.

Not sure why you're trying to bait me. If we lived in a perfect world, Richt would be fired. But that's not happening.

He's shown no signs he can raise his ceiling. The hope - if firing him isn't an option - is he'll make the right changes offensively, and Florida athletes are what raise his ceiling from his tenure at UGA.

The board is highly irrational atm. We know he's not going anywhere. So I'm curious to see where everybody stands with a probable hypothetical.

I am not trying to "bait" you. I am trying to explain that Richt is doing what he did at UGA. He is the coach he was. Changing some coaches isn't going to change much.

So what are you saying we should discuss? Fire Richt? Even when you know it's not happening?

You discuss what you want. I am saying that he is who he was so don't get your hopes up for a "drastic" improvement.

Perhaps putting the pressure on Richt or the decision makers will lead him to actual retirement. Maybe he can meet with Urban's doctor.

Yea I agree that he wont accept it .... thats why he needs to go. Im just saying id be fine with those changes

Our issues are far more than just the oc, kids play with no heart especially the defense in that first half and we just overall come out flat too often, **** near every game

Yep.
People said the same **** about golden. “get him a DC”.

this is well beyond an OC.

Yep.

Richt needs to completely relinquish all OC duties including Game planning. I would support that except that Richt won’t. That’s the problem

I don't think there's any hope that ANY change outside of Richt's removal will garner a worthwhile result. The post was to see where everyone else fell on the issue.

It actually crossed my mind (and I kinda hope) that these kids may just lay down until Rorcht permanently benches Malweak. Their demeanor completely says it all, they look like they are absolutely disgusted and want to punch dude in his ****. Too bad Rorcht thinks everything is peachy

Idk but that defense performance was pathetic in the first 2 quarters

That would be a good start. The ultimate problem is Rick though. Replacing corches will buy Rick another year or so, but the reality is that we need to flush the toilet and start over with a new HC.
The contract extension thru 2021 is what guarantees him another year. Make the changes!

I can't help but think this pressure is going to force Richt's hand to make some changes. Emotions aside, would you all be ok with bringing in a new OC, QB coach, o-line coach, and st coach?

Or is there no winning solution outside firing Richt (not happening)?

Didn't they try your option 1 at UGa?..... how did that work out?

Keep repeating the same **** thing and expect different outcome?

CMR is not going anywhere unless he chooses to. The University is not going to force him out. He is exactly the kind of administrator the university looks for. They will never have to police the football program because he will do that. And we shouldn't want him to leave - we just need him to recognize that his talents are better utilized as a manager and program front man - not play caller. I am wondering what the rest of the staff is saying to him and each other behind the scenes. We have no idea. They may also feel it's time for change .

I can't find the post but someone mentioned that somewhere along the way the fans lost sight of the fact we all thought we would be an 8-4 or 9-3 team at best this season given the losses of personnel through graduation and the draft. It's tough to expect freshmen or redshirt freshmen to play at the level those senior players did. We got excited about the skill level of Storm 18 class . And bottom line is the talent and depth in the trenches is sadly lacking right now - partially due to inexperience and physical readiness (the young guys) and partially due to lack of talent/athleticism with the others. The program is in season three of a major rebuild.

OL and OC/QB's coach is all I'll need to show me that Richt is serious about winning with this program. Blind faith in his son and Searels is what is going to get him fired. It happened to Golden.

It will be hard but his best option would to have his son take an off field position and hire an OC/WB coach and an OL coach. Then maybe CMR can take over Special Teams so we can keep Harley.
