Banda has! gurvan Hall=elite, and amari carter has potential to be elite. Plus what ever coach recruited our D-ends because Garvin and Jackson are elite and will be getting paid big time in the NFL.

Outside of physical torture, very few sane human beings on the planet would walk away from $20M, despite how “miserable” you try to make them.

Best case you negotiate a lower buyout, for maybe $12M, and I think that’s a reach because best believe this will be Richts last coaching rodeo. He wants to grab as much cash as possible, because this money will need to last his family a long time. Why? He’s untouchable after this, because it’s clear to all he’s a washed up coach, much like Mack Brown.

And I have no insight in this - my inferences are purely based on economic motivation and human behavior.

Plus Richt is in that demographic that lost a nice chunk of change during the 2008 financial crisis and many of those dudes are still working overdrive to recoup retirement money.

He sure must have gotten a decent buyout in the millions form UGa. ... and I am sure his contract has a out clause for both sides ...if not it is a pretty stupid deal

Of course the resign at end of season part is bs but this is still great news.... I’m sure Richt is willing to give up play calling anyway after seeing the results speak for themselves.

We are going to get a new OC we just need to be ready to match offers with SEC schools bc they like to take our assistants (and recruits) just so we don’t have them. That goes for a new Oline coach and special teams coach as well.

From your lips and fingers to God’s ears and eyes, but it’s $20M, brother. I’d personally endure a lot for $20M....and I think the good Pastor will too.

He’d spin it as a “test of his faith” from God, much like God tested the patience of Job. As the banners fly, Richt would just reach for his gold plated bible and ask lord to forgive you all.

As he checks his bank account to ensure the check cleared, he’d smile wryly and whisper to himself, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Some good points here, but I have to disagree on Mack Brown. He actually won a NC and played for at least one more (Bama beat UT after the QB was knocked out of the game). Mack wasn't the most brilliant coach ever, but he rebuilt UNC and then rebuilt UT into a national powerhouse. Richt can't come close to touching that.

I think the difference this time around is we are paying a lot of money so results need to match that money. Golden was paid dog**** and had the “cloud.” Richt is making over double that clown made and we just built the IPF. The school is committed to winning. My hope is Richt realizes he needs an OC bc I think he can be a great HC with the right OC bc he’s got a **** good DC.

I agree with you on those points, but I’m saying Mack Brown is now seen as a washed up coach and he can’t get a P5 job any longer (and he’s tried for several years now).

Richt would be seen exactly in the same light, and perhaps even lesser so than Brown, because he’s never built a program and he’s never won a title. This is his last rodeo, best believe that.

That's one thing that drives me absolutely NUTS!

Of everything coaching - Butch Davis absolutely LOVED recruiting. And no one was better at EVALUATING.

If Richt get $4M a year - Butch would take $2M a year - BUT - UM would have to leave him that $2M for two top coordinators. He may only spend $800K for one, and maybe $1.1M for the other - but Butch can also pick great coaches.

He cold really help Manny - maybe tone down the blitzes a bit and create more schemes - but for certain, Butch would get Manny the top defensive players he requires!

I remember reading somewhere that UGA paid him the full $4 million he would have gotten for the next year.
