~What does that mean?
Alabama and Clemson are the "Modern standard". This is not about clean dorms, restrooms and vending machines with cool graphics. If 18 and 19 year old kids visit the Alabama's and Clemson's of the world and then visit the facilities at Miami they are going from 5 star, luxury, opulent amenities to utilitarian, unremarkable structures. If you cannot see the massive advantage this gives to the "Four Seasons Hotel" college football playgrounds then we will leave the light on for ya.
Here's what's going to transpire over the next several years...the flat earth crowd will wake-up one morning having realized that recruits are in fact heading in droves to the luxury college football facilities and start bellowing and attacking Miami's administration for not having the foresight to have seen this problem coming. They will be telling each other how for year's they were warning anyone with ears, but no one would listen to them.
But, forget everything above and answer these question:
- Why are universities across the country investing untold millions to produce extravagant football facilities?
- These are universities that are purported to have some of the best minds in the world. Is it your position that all of these people are simply stupid and there will be no return on these massive investments?
- Is it your belief that these football compounds, soon to be seen on the Rich and Famous program, are not being constructed due to the belief it will supercharge their recruiting, but simply being done out of the kindness of the various administrations hearts? You know, a modern day version of the movie, 'Trading Places'.
- Many of the benefactors are brilliant business people who have been sold on the idea to build these mega luxury football complexes after being told how they will greatly improve their football programs. Have they suddenly become painfully stupid and like dominoes are being mowed down one by one across America via a massive ponzi scheme?
- Do you think that Nick Saban is a fool to believe that Alabama's super build-out will in any way give him a significant recruiting edge over the schools that don't have similar facilities?
- Is it possible that you believe that these compounds across the land are being sold as college football facilities, but in reality will be converted to luxury Indian Casinos?
- And finally, countless times on this message board I've read the observation that Miami underclassmen come out early due to being surrounded by the wealth they see in Miami, but you don't believe these same kids will be swayed by the football schools boasting 5 star hotels, with every imaginable amenity, that they, wink-wink, call football facilities?
